Capítulo 22: Chapter 22
Sienna's birthday will be held later tonight, so I went with my older brother to buy a gift. My older brother Keion and I went to the nearest mall.
I heard Kuya swear softly when we entered the Toy Store so I turned to him.
"Why?" I asked him in a confused question because he also looks like bothered. He ignored me and I followed where he looked.
He glanced at the female sales lady of the toy store and entered a room. Who is that?
"Kuya, who is that?" I asked.
"Nothing." he said and I just shrugged.
I chose the human sized play house and have it delivered to Suzie's address tomorrow. After shopping, we decided to have lunch first.
Kuya is still quiet and I'm sure it had something to do with the girl earlier in the Toy Store.
"That's your girlfriend." that's not a question. He looked at me and nodded slightly. I was amazed because I didn't think he would admit it! I just guessed that.
"You fought?" Kuya looks bothered.
He nodded. "She thought I was hooking up and you're my girlfriend ." he said and my jaw dropped. I didn't know I'm the reason!
"You did not tell her the truth?" He can say that we are siblings to his girlfriend of course, except to his friends.
Kuya shook his head. "She's Dale's cousin." he just said and I already understood why he didn't tell the truth.
My older brother's love is already in chaos because of me. I need to really speed up my plan so that Kuya can fix his.
How do I fix this? How do I start? Kuya just told me that I would just 'go with the flow'. The two of us had an idea but I felt guilty about the woman.
Night came. I wore my black silk backless dress, paired with my highest stilettos. I put on some light make up and a red hot lipstick. I lightly curled my hair and I'm done.
I looked myself in the mirror. There seems to be something wrong. Why am I so dressed up for a children's party? I shook my head as I realized that I was wearing too sexy. It doesn't seem to fit the occasion.
I hurried to my closet with a knock. I let him in because I knew it was Kuya.
He looked at me with an amazed look.
I know that. I was too over dressed.
"I'll get change..." I preceded him before he even spoke.
"What? No. That's how I like it. Someone's nose will smoke for sure. Don't change. Dale also called, we're late." said Kuya.
I looked at my wristwatch and saw we were 20 minutes late! How long have I been fixing? Seriously, Zella? Three hours for a children's party?!
That's how it was and I didn't change and we immediately traveled to Suzie's house. I also didn't forget what Kuya said that he was going to make the nose of 'that one' smoke and I knew he was referring to Taiden.
I don't understand why, and what's the problem with what I'm wearing? Taiden used to really have a problem with what I wore. But now, he has no right to comment on what I am wearing.
I like what I'm wearing.
When the car stopped in front of Suzie's house, I felt like a rat. It's like I don't want to enter the house and I just want to go home! I felt so bad that I didn't realize that Kuya was talking to me.
"Are you alright? You look tense." said Kuya and that was true.
"I'm nervous," I confessed and he grinned. He took my hand and kissed me on the forehead.
"I'm here, okay? He won't bite. He looks ruthless, yes. But don't show your nervousness," he reminded.
I took a deep breath repeatedly before getting out of the car. This is it. We will meet again.
I hope the stars in the sky side with me and I won't be disappointed for being Zella 2 point 0.
Kuya called someone and just a few minutes later, the gate opened. It was Suzie and Dale.
"My man!" Dale greeted Keion and the two immediately fist bumped.
"Oh ... my ... god !!" Suzie screamed exaggeratedly as she looked at me from head to toe. "Look at you, Zella! That's the amount of what you've changed!" she then approached me and we hugged.
"You too. You already have a family." I said.
"Damn. This night would be interesting." Dale replied and I didn't understand what he meant. Is the children's party interesting?
"Come on. They're already waiting inside." said Suzie and she led us into their house.
I was surprised because it was just quiet. This is not what I expected. I thought a lot of kids and guests. Suzie saw the astonishment on my face so she spoke.
"Sienna's birthday is just an intimate dinner, Zella. So it's just us and Dale's friends." she grinned at me.
Dale and Kuya were slightly ahead of us and we were behind them. I was surprised when Suzie suddenly whispered to me.
"There's a man there. Excited to see you." she giggled and laughed at the same time so Dale and Kuya turned to us.
"What are you gossiping about?" Dale was curious and he approached Suzie. Kuya also approached me and held me by the waist.
I saw there the eyes of the two with us.
"Damn. I don't want trouble on Sienna's birthday. Do we have a lot of first aid?" Dale asked Suzie and the more I couldn't get what he meant.
I just didn't think of that and we went to Suzie's pool side area. There is a long table across and the dishes are placed. On the other side was also a long table and people were already sitting there.
It was as if I suddenly grew cold when I saw the man turned around. My knees are weakening because it feels like there are horses starting to race inside me.
Even it's dark, Zella. You can still see his back.
"Mommy Ze!" Sienna ran to greet me.
"Hello baby girl. Ninang's gift will come tomorrow. Is it okay?" her grin immediately widened and she hugged me tightly.
"Of course, Ninang. I'm excited!"
"God! Keion dude! It's been so long." that was Mozes. The men approached Kuya and greeted each one of them.
Taiden was the last man to turn around and make a fist bump with Kuya.
Then I saw his side profile. His pointed narrow nose. His jaw, his thick eyebrows and his posture. The amount of changes on his appearance. He looks intimidating.
"Uhm .. guys. Eyes here. Zella here." Suzie caught the men's attention.
"Baby!" Elton screamed and run but he stopped running when Kuya grabbed his necktie and was slightly pulled.
"F*** you! Zella and I were close friends!" Elton smirked at Kuya and Kuya laughed before he let go of Elton's necktie.
Elton immediately kissed me on the cheek and looked at my whole being.
"I should have preceded you before," said Elton to Kuya.
"Hi Zella. You look ... wow." Macsen said and he kissed me too.
"Thank you." I only said that because I was a little embarrassed by what I was wearing.
"That's why he can't be left alone in San Francisco." jokingly said Mozes. He did the same, hugged and kissed me.
After Mozes, everyone's eyes went ... to Taiden. He stared at me intently but not angrily. His gaze seemed to pierce me.
We stared at each other for a few seconds before he walked over to me. It was as if I wanted to run with the extreme nervousness of my chest as he approached.
It was as if everyone stopped around like we were just the two moving. Nothing cut our gaze. Until he got closer to me.
I was wearing too high heels but he was even taller than me. Did he grew taller? Or maybe it's just my nervousness so even though he used to be like this, I feel like he's grown even taller.
It was as if I was about to sit down when he bent down slightly and held me by the waist. I could feel the heat of his breath so I felt like I was shaking. His grip on my waist didn't help.
Calm Zella. Deep breath. You can do it! I said to my mind.
"Welcome home, baby." he whispered to me before kissing my cheek.
