Katie’s POV

“Names?” The large, and completely unnerving man dressed in a tuxedo holding a clipboard that dwarfed in his large hands barked at Olivia and me.

“Olivia Linwood, and Katherine Wagner,” Olivia responded without missing a beat.

She was obviously not even the slightest bit taken aback by the man in front of her. With a jerk of his large head, the man indicated our names were on the list without even glancing at it.

The entire encounter was suspicious to me, but everything Olivia was involved with had an element of confusion woven around it. I had searched throughout the day for a valid excuse that would create a proper reason for me to stay home, wrapped up comfortably in the safety of the four walls of my home.
