As the loud sound 'BOOOM!!' echoed in the throne room, it did so almost everywhere in the land. The townsmen were frightened out of their wits, and everyone rushed into the confines of their home as the blinding light had cleared a little. No one noticed the aftermath of the 'boom' or the lightening as none were looking for it. Everyone always expected the worst because after the curse got activated, anything related to this sound had been bad for everyone.
