Thanks to the few high-class events that he had a duty to attend, Zeph had started to understand that there was a difference in how those with wealth carried themselves and how those who were truly wealthy did so.

The same seemed to be true when it came to power as well. Once you got to a certain point flaunting it became something that was beneath your station and also just something that you naturally did not care about. 

No need to look rich and powerful when you are to the point where it breaks most people's understanding of wealth and authority.

To Zeph Archon Crix Zis looked like a well-dressed corporate executive who allowed himself to age gracefully, and didn't try to cover up the wisp of white hair in his well-maintained short beard.
