Capítulo 165: The Goblinmancer

The goblinmancer was not a goblin but a being known as a Haryo, it's a heteromorphic race, a half man, bear, and a pig, in fact, he is also considered as the last of its kind because many of his tribe were killed during the Second Great War, leaving only a few dozens left. And after that, they first thought everything was safe but not before long the survivors of the residents of Fordalt did what they wanted, like killing species that were on a brink of extinction, the Haryo was an example of it.

After that hellish experience, the Goblinmancer was the only one left of its kind, with him dead, his entire species will be extinct.

But not before long with him finally achieved something that no beings in this world could have, Immortality.

Not just that, he also became a mage after years of sweat and blood, a mage who had managed to breed his own army of goblins, hobgoblins, Cyclops, ogres and monsters.

Over nearly a thousand years, he created a powerful and large army with stronger capabilities than their regular counterparts.

He has a physical ability of a <D+> rank but having a strong army, he became a formidable foe.

With this, he had created his own Kingdom of his own for the past centuries.

But it went all down to the drain as some seven buffoons somehow managed to beat his army with some sort of type of Dark Magic, killing his entire army in a matter of minutes!

After beating his army, those people he always despised put him on some cannon and blast him far from his kingdom even further.

It didn't kill him but it indeed humiliated him!

But he didn't give up. For the past few years, he was going all out, using his magic and everything he got to rebuild his once army again and gain his honor once more!

And now, he has created a larger army than before in a few years!

That feat such as this can be considered to be 6th tier magic even though he himself is just a mere <D+> rank, only people at <B–> rank could master 6th tier spells.

But still, he would still get defeated in a 1v1 battle, even if he has an strong magic level spell, a person at that rank would still obliterate him without casting any spells.

But with an army of his own, defeating that opponent will be no problem for him.

If he was facing a human with strong magic and abilities, he would love to battle against him with honor.

But…

Currently, he was about to go against a mere human, an inept human! Any magician could sense another's magic as long as they were near the said person. Or, if said person was strong but wasn't using any concealment spell, a magician could still detect his or her magical energy from far away.

But even so, when he used his magic to take control of the goblin temporarily, he sensed no magic from the Man in Black. In fact, he sensed no magic from the surroundings at all.

For the brief second that he controlled the goblin, it seemed as if his magic power was being sucked from him at an alarming rate even though he was kilometers away.

And where was his magic getting sucked into? It was being sucked by the Man in Black himself. His gorgeous little heterochromia eyes gave him not only a beautiful aura but also a foreboding one.

As if he was being assisted by the god who all gods call their enemy. Not even the dark gods wanted to mingle with him because of his nature.

Maybe, just maybe, the Man in Black was that God's champion?

If so, then it would explain why magic suddenly disappeared from their surroundings. Few gods have that kind of ability but not at a terrifying rate! Only one God had the ability to suck magic in a second from its surroundings passively.

A Primordial being with a body of a literal boundless void, the God of the Inept, Death of the Endless, the Ruler of the Boundless Void, and the God of Death, many titles but one holder.

"I dare not speak his foul name," Strurruilk told himself with disdain in his voice, as if he despised that god. As he walked back and forth in his room. He made his cave inside a magical monster's lair which he wasn't bothered to kill himself and so sent an army of 70,000 goblins to deal with it.

As he sat down on his throne of thorny bones, he pondered.

"Did I offend that damn god after I stop worshiping him?"

Maybe he did.

Maybe the God of Death was angered by him not doing what he was supposed to do and that's why he gets another champion on his own.

If so, then he must be one of his targets.

However, If he was indeed angered at him, why didn't he take the Immortality away from him in the first place?

There is definitely other things that damn God was planning.

And he couldn't expect the other Gods like Genesis, Gleam, Monolith, or even that naive Goddess Glesia to help him, obviously because they don't even like the Goblinmancer or they stand no chance against the God of Death, not even them could stand up against the forsaken god even they faced him at once.

That would be a one-sided massacre.

The only thing there is a chance to beat the God of Death was to muster all the forces of the Heavens to beat him, but there's still many doubts about it. But there is one being like the Almighty Godfather has the power rivalling his.

As for Strurruilk, what is he, a goblinmancer and king of some monsters that considered ants to them, going to do?

"No!" He yelled at himself.

"I am Strurruilk, The Mighty King of all Things Under His Feet and Ruler From His Throne of the Burning Hill and Sea Master of Thieves and Giver of All Goblin Life and Conquerer of All Lands and Grand Lord of Magic and Happiness! And Only Chief of Love and Destruction! Whose magic could rival the strongest and the most talented. I will rise through the ashes with my army and fully rebuild my kingdom once again! And finally find these 7 hooligans and kill them all myself! That's my plan and I must follow through!" He announced to none but himself.

Nobody was there to listen to his babbling since he locked himself up inside his personal room, which was inside the monster's lair.

His soldiers were outside doing menial tasks such as cleaning, repairing, building, farming, and guarding.

Maintaining an army of hundred of thousands of goblins, Hobgoblins, and keeping dozens of magic artifacts he found or stolen was a very tiresome task that he gave to his trusted strongest Generals.

As long as he controlled those monstrosities, none of them would dare to abandon him or they risked getting squashed by their bigger and heavier brothers.

The monster's lair's entrance was barricaded by a makeshift wooden wall. It was sturdy and very build perfectly. It was very unexpected for Goblins and monsters who's engineering skills are shit.

Well, it all thanks to Strurruilk's magic who could also make Goblins or his army very good at something.

Good at something it includes like pleasure and breeding~

Speaking of breeding, Strurruilk ordered a specific section of the cave to be turned into the goblin's breeding chamber where eligible goblins of both genders could engage in their breeding activities.

It took only a month for a new batch of baby goblins to be birthed and then two months to gain maturity.

The lifespan of normal goblins were two years at best but since these goblins were modified by him, they could live up to 5 years but more than that, he found out, would just cripple the goblins.

As Strurruilk pondered, the dead bodies of several women, few human females and one bunny beastmen were all laid on the floor of his room. Clothes torn and defiled.

In respects and purposes, Strurruilk would not taste any sort of mercy from his eventual challenger.

And that challenger he was talking about had already pointed out his location but he was unaware of it.

He could sense any of his men but only for a short time as long as he was focused on that specific troops. The only reason he found out about that one goblin being interrogated was because that when he was trying to sense his troops, he only found one and so, decided to see what was happening to it.

Back to Artemis, who had already deduced how far his ability could go and so, made sure that on his way, he would kill all the goblins as quickly as possible.

As the knights and mages with him marched on down the dirt road that connected three more western villages, the same would greet them each time. Dead villages with dead and alive goblins.

Artemis was sparing no time, each goblin he or Caitlyn detected, he would immediately pursue and kill before they could alert more of their brethren.

Artemis and his men were essentially paving a path with the blood of their adversaries.

As they drew nearer to the monster's lair, they reached the end of the dirt path.

"Beyond this is the forest of death," Toby said.

(Note if its confusing you: The Forest of Death south from Diadel City is a kilometre away, the west from Diadel city is also the Forest of Death but it was nearly hundred of kilometers away, while finally north and east from Diadel City is just normal fields and forest and it was less dangerous than the forest of death.)

"Then onwards, it is," Artemis said, not caring about the perils the forest would have. Why would he fear the forest of death when he went across many miles there twice, the Magic beasts in there were extremely dangerous that could destroy armies but they are still not a threat to him.

Not just that, during his battle against the Sun God, he and that God destroyed more than 90% of the forest. While huge, the forest is still big, almost as large as the Amazon rainforest back on Earth. The last remaining 10% of it however were still huge as hell.

But Magic Beasts are not the main problem, the part of the forest they were about to enter is also a territory of these Goblins and Hobgoblins, maybe at least thousands were in there.

Numbers may still have a quality of their own but only if they have reserves. No more reserves? Well good luck with overrunning someone who could spam countless area-effect weapons to spare.

Artemis then entered the forest with his knights. The forest was devoid of most life, should it even be called a forest at this point?

Fewer birds, fewer insects, no wild animals.

Just the stench of goblins in all directions.

[They must have hunted every living creature in this part of the forest] Caitlyn said.

Artemis agreed.
