"Take drastic actions."
Alexander said, in his opinion there are 2 ways he can go about this.
The first one, wait until his father dies, inherit the throne, and carry out the reforms slowly.
Compensating the nobles for taking the land and slowly but surely eliminating serfdom.
Now, that would be viable... 100 years ago.
But not now, it would take forever to reform the country like that, not to mention expensive.
The second method would be to just take the military, forcefully take the throne from his father, and "gently" take the land from the nobility and free the serfs.
"Both methods have a downsides and upsides, but I think The second method would be best.
After all, if you are going to reform, might as well do it througholy and not like the half-assed approach by Alexander II in the original timeline."
There is but 1 problem that Alexander needs to deal with, and thats the military.
Its controlled by Nicholas I and fiercly loyal.
Not to mention that various positions are occupied by the noibility.
Taking control of the military is basiclly impossible, what he needs to do instead is to build up his own force, loyal only to him.
"And I think I just might know how"

You know, being the prime minister of the strongest nation in the world is not easy, being in the limelight attracts countless enemies.
Constantly trying to stop a european hegemon from rising, trying to counterbalance russia, and especially keeping india safe.

"So, whats the matter?"
"Sir, the russians have started increasing their forces in central asia, as well as demanding various rights from the khanates."
The prime minister, having heard what the informant said frowns.
If the russians manage to take control of central asia and get a border with india...
It would be disasterous, India is the crown jewl of the british empire and without it, there would be no british hegemony.
He must stop the russian expansion into central asia, no matter what.
"Thanks, you are free to leave."

Alexander is currently talking to his father, more specificlly about a small request.
"Father, even though we have the largest army in europe, our combat effectiveness is extremely low.
Our equipment is years behind, as well as our tactics.
So, I request that you give me the permission to assemble a modern army of 10 divisions, with the latest tactics, equipment, and training."
"No. Alexander, we have defeated napoleonic france, they had the most powerful military, there is no need for changing the way the army works."
Alexander, hearing what his fathers words frowns, he needs to come up with another reason .
"How about this. I will only train 1 division with the latest tactics, training methods and equipment, and if it performs well enough would you be willing to allow for 10 divisions?"
"5"
"Thanks father, I'll make sure those 5 divisions will be the strongest in the entirety of the russian empire"
If not for the vast territories of the russian empire acting as a great buffer, russia would have fallen by now.
*February 3rd*
Right now Alexander is in ST.petersburg
Inside the "Первый кадетский корпус" or first cadet corps, a military academy aimed to train officers More specificlly, the young nobles.
The reason for his visit to this place is to find a talented person willing to serve as the commander of his division
And he might have found one.
"Gentelmen. Today his imperial highness
Has graced us with his presence looking for a talented noblemen to lead his personal army."
"Today we will host a test, the person with the highest score will be recruited by his imperial highness, it starts now."
"I should've studies more, I could have managed to stand right next to the future tsar of the empire"
"Yeah imagine that, do you now regret going out to so many parties ay"
There were many thoughts and opinions in the students head, some were excited, some confused but th most prevelant one being regret, if only they had focused more on their studies, they might have actually stood a chance

Listening to the professors speech Dimitry is surprised.
He didn't excpect the prince of one of the most powerful empires in the world to come here personally.
He is also incredibly excited by the prospect of personally working for the soon to be the most powerful person in the russian empire.
After having the test paper handed over to him Dimitry answers all the questions quite easily, he didn't spend his time lazing off in the academy. (Unlike some)
And then, the last question: "what do you think about the state of the russian military?"
Seeing this question Dimitry for the first time in his life, doesn't know what to answer.
What should he write? Something that praises the russian military and the tsar, or an honest criticism?
'I'll just write my honest opinion, there is a reason why this question is here anyway...'

Currently Alexander is reviewing the test papers, and he has to say, he is dissapointed.
Its not that he had any excpectations in the first place, its that they somehow managed to do even worse.
But, thats not surprising, the descendants of noble families have a guaranteed positition, so instead of actually studying the majority a live a decadent life style.
Anyways, one of the tests caught Alexanders Interest.
Written By Dimitry Obolensky, he has managed to get every single question correct not to mention, his answer on the last question being exactly what he was looking for.
"In my honest and humble opinion I think there is significant room for improvement in the russian military.
Many look at the war between mother russia and napoleon that russian won, say that its because of our powerful russian military.
While mostly correct, its not really true.
Napoleon has made significant gains and if not for our lack of a good supply network and bad weather, napoleon would have succeded in his invasion.
Its by luck that we managed to win.
So the russian military is in need of some serious reform, modern equipment, training and tactics, since russian is behind all other european great powers."
