Chaos. That's the only thing I could see around me.
Caleb wasn't prepared by this chaos that suddenly occured. His hands were on the ground, his head bleeding because of the debris caused by the explosions.
He was in a daze, ears ringing, vision blurry and mind dizzy from the event that just transpired.
When Caleb recovered a bit of clarity in him, he lifted his head in confusion.
This action he regret, dread filled his eyes. As his vision was presented with a scene that he would never ever forget his entire life.
People were screaming in agony and anguish. Some were hugging their pokemon's body that were lifelessly laying and vice-versa. A few bodies were sprawled on the ground like worthless trashes, dead. Pokemons and humans weren't spared from the bombing, it didn't choose it's victims after all.
Fire and smokes were everywhere, it was literal mayhem.
Caleb's breathing began to quicken but he acted fast and smart. He reached out towards his bag to look for his phone, he then tried to dialed the emergency dial but it didn't reach. He tried several times and it didn't work, he even tried to contact his parents and relatives, but it was futile as the signal was somehow blocked by something.
"Fuck!"
Caleb cursed, then he realized when he heared low groaning near him.
Looking around he saw his Magby laying beside him, it seems like he was unscathed like him, but had a few minor scratches here and there on it's body.
His friends were alright as do their Pokemons, he thanked Arceus. Although they seemed to still reel in the shock from what just occured.
"Guys!"
Caleb called out to them once. But they didn't react, he understood since his ears still rung from the loud explosions earlier.
He called for them several times until he got their attention by slapping Eusine on the cheek.
He couldn't slap the girls now could he?
"Let's get out of here fast, let's help anyone that we come across our way that needed it." Caleb said while clutching his arm.
All of them nodded obediently, Diantha and the others were to shock to react and they just followed what their instinct told them to do.
"Let's go! Call your pokemons."
After they hastily walked around to find an exit with great difficulty because of the destroyed infrastructure around the area, the others then regained their composure.
"Magby use Fire Punch on that tree that's blocking our way, don't use too much fire focus more on force." Caleb instructed.
"Magby."
With a loud thump, the tree trunk that was blazing and blocking their way was destroyed to tiny piece in it's midsection.
"What happened, why did this happened." Eclairisse began to mumble to herself as she dazely saw the scene around her.
"I think it is a terrorist attack." Caleb was thinking all the while what was the cause of this to happen, and this was the though that was most likely. With his memories and knowledge it was a possibility.
"What!?" The three exclaimed.
Diantha said. "Thinking about it, even if there was a failure or gas leakage that resulted in explosion this wouldn't have been so large-scaled. I think you are right, Caleb."
"Then, does that mean this was done on purpose." Eclairisse covered her mouth in disbelief.
The innocent mind are always the most fragile, Caleb understood this so he refrain himself from answering her. The things happening right now are more than enough of an answer. Besides, he isn't sure of his claim.
At that moment people wearing uniform black and white clothes jumped down from the skies on the back of flying Pokemons. They reached out of their belts, and began to call out the pokemons that were contained inside.
Scrafty, Gliscor and Drapion were the majority. A few were their pre-evolution.
When they were released they elevated the chaos that was already big by destroying and fighting the pokemons that were protecting their trainers.
"Shit! Let's hide."
Caleb immediately dragged his friends and their Pokemons to a small forest on the park.
"What should we do Caleb." Diantha asked nervously.
Caleb looked behind him only to see his friends were looking at him with glances like hope in their eyes, they were just kinds and seeing Caleb act so maturely they began to unconsciously rely on him.
Caleb wasn't bothered by this, and he didn't care he just focused on the current situation they are now. 'Think Caleb, think.'
When Eusine was about to speak up after seeing Caleb so silent, he opened his eyes.
"The signal in the area is disrupted, so our gadget for contact the outside is restricted. Let's help out the people without getting ourselves in danger. Eclairisse and I would be a pair, Diantha and Eusine you guys are also in a pair. I think that when we have enough numbers on our sidez we can stall for time, it is much better than hiding and not helping the civilians and trainers that could help us get out of here, together I think we could hold out until help arrive which would at least take a few dozen minutes considering how boldly those guys attacked this place, they should have a plan and we preparing in it is our best course of action right now."
Caleb seriously told them of his plan.
Although they were panicky and nervous they still complied to what Caleb said.
They nodded their head.
"We'll meet back here after five minutes, okay? If you see those people with balck and white outfit in you field of vision immediately come back here and don't get spotted."
Caleb was now with Eclairisse, laying low with their Pokemons at some bushes. They dragged bodies to the side, those with major injuries they couldn't do anything but to place them to a place that couldn't further injure them.
"Eclairisse, can you have your Fletchling survey around there? The huge log is blocking our view and we don't want to miss anything." Caleb suggested.
Eclairisse nodded nervously, then instructed her trusted flying pokemon to do so.
"Caleb, the Officer Jennys should have arrived by now... I'm scared, what if they won't arrive?" Eclairisse spoke with a terrified trembling voice.
Caleb tried to calm her down by assuring her. "Don't worry, they should be coming here and would arrive any minute now."
*Boom*
There were battles going on around them and Caleb also felt worried. He knew that Pokemon trainers were battling the people responsible for this, fortunately they were at a part where there aren't any activities going on since this was an area that was located at the very corner of the National Park where people don't visit often.
"Let's hope and pray to Arceus we won't be encountering bad guys." Caleb spoke.
Eclairisse was a nervous wreck, she calmed down somewhat when Caleb patted her shoulder and gave her an reassuring smile.
At the corner of Caleb's eye he saw an injured person, but he was quite far away.
He surveyed his surrounding, seeing that there were no person around, he risked it.
"Caleb." Eclairisse called out worriedly.
"Stay there, don't worry I'll be back."
He stood up with Magby, they slowly and surely made their way towards the person lying down and saw that he was a pokemon trainer indicated by the pokeballs hefted on his belt.
When he saw his face Caleb felt like he looked a bit familiar. "Sir, are you okay?"
The person lying down already felt his presence approaching. He opened his eyes and stared at Caleb's face. "Young man, help me get this log off my foot."
He was around thirthy, Caleb and Magby worked together to lift the heavy wood that was pressuring the man's leg.
They helped him stand up and Caleb braced himself from the heavy weight of the man and then guided him to walk by letting him lean and shoulder his weight.
This was the first person they found, well Caleb expected this seeing how remote this area was compared to other locations.
When they came back from the bushes. Eclairisse seemed to be panicking as she said to Caleb immediately as she saw him arrive. "Caleb, Fletchling told me there are bad guys over there that are looking around the area. We should leave."
Caleb tensed up and nodded to her suggestion.
The man was silent all this while, he was injured and wasn't in a mood to talk much but he still showed his appreciation to Caleb and his Magby.
With the new addition they came back to where they were at the beginning. When they arrived, Diantha and Eusine was already there with two people with them.
It was a woman and a child that seemed to be her daughter.
"Caleb. Who is this?" Diantha asked when she saw the man who was being helped by Caleb. She also found his face familiar, but the dirt and disheveled hair made it hard for her to point out who he is exactly.
"We saw him nearby getting his foot crushed by a log, but it isn't anything serious thankfully. Oh yeah, what's your name, sir?" Caleb asked after realizing he still hadn't asked for the man's name.
"I'm Augustine Sycamore. Thank you for helping me earlier young man. I couldn't reach for my pokeballs earlier because of my predicament, luckily you found me."
The three young kids, including the woman ND child pair blinked their eyes. Then they widened their eyeballs in shock. "What!?"
Now that Caleb and the rest took a closer look, he really resembled the image that was shown in TV frequently.
Magby scarched his head in confusion seeing his trainer's reaction. As did the other pokemons. Except for Ralts and Drowzee who knew of him.
They both filled in their ignorant friends, Fletchling and Magby on who Professor Sycamore was.
"What brings you here professor?" Caleb asked in a respectable tone in his voice.
"I was just enjoying the scenery of our National Park when this horrible incedent happened." The professor replied gravely while looking around the area where there was smoke and small fumes of fire ignited around that was caused by the explosion.
"Hays, I already contacted Officer Jenny and they are already handling the situation." He assured them.
"How did you contact them when there are no signal?" Eusine asked doubtfully. They already tried using their phones so their doubt was justified.
Augustine Sycamore smiled, not at all bothered by the doubt in their gazes that was directed at him. "I had my flying pokemon relay the message. She was already out of the PokeBall before the bombing so I had her send some help. Although, she left me with quite a heavy burden on my foot." He smiled bitterly remembering how she left off forgetting on helping him remove the log earlier.
"It's great that you are fine professor." Caleb said. The others also nodded in agreement.
