The next day started with me struggling with my pained legs. Lincoln even wondered why I was wearing a pair of sneakers than high-heeled shoes for our schedule today.
"What did you do yesterday?" Lincoln asked once we settled ourselves inside the car.
I wore my seatbelt while taking a glance at him. "To the mall," I replied casually. My hands pressed on my lap, stopping it from massaging my thighs.
Lincoln scoffed at my answer. Tapping his fingers on his knee as he looked out of the window. Every other time, I would catch him staring at me and he would only look away like nothing happened.
"So," it's me who broke the silence. My voice as soft as I could make it sound as I spoke, "anything special happened the other night?"
Right. I did not make it to dinner last night. While resting at Damian's place after what we did, I fell into a slumber, and before I knew it the sun has settled down and the sky filled with stars.
Lincoln shifted his gaze at me. The corner of his lips rose into a smirk. Adjusting his sleeves as he looked away, "I was wondering where you spent the rest of the night." He interrogated which made me clear my throat.
"I'm guessing something had happened," he added as I dare not to answer.
After hours of driving on the street, we arrive at a resort. Lincoln was the first one to get out of the car and our driver opened up the door for me. Enduring the pain as much as I can when I finally set my foot on the ground. My eyebrows twitched at the soreness of my lower half and Lincoln seems to notice it.
He suddenly walked over to my side and sweep me off of my feet to carry my small body in bride style. The perfume on his suit immediately attacked my sense of smell as I wrapped my arms around his neck, afraid to fall to the ground.
The moment we entered the premises there was already loud murmuring from everyone. Some were saying we make a good couple. Some recognized who we are and our status.
Getting a little bit uncomfortable, I tapped Lincoln on his shoulder and told him to let me down. A request he didn't pay much attention to as he continue to walk his way passed the lounge.
"Good morning, ma'am and sir." A man in a black and gold suit approached us and that's when finally Lincoln let me stand on my own.
The man pointed his hand towards somewhere as he said, "this way, please." My gaze followed the direction of where he was pointing at. The view of a gorgeous pool with little man-made falls appeared in my vision.
Lincoln suddenly clung to my hand on his when I took a step forward. He keeps it in place by placing his hand above it as we walk together right behind the resort staff.
The whole place looks so pretty. There are various tropical plants far away from the main pool. They even have a mini bar just in case you wanted a refreshing drink while getting tanned.
"It's beautiful, is it not?" Lincoln muttered, lightly tapping my hand to get my full attention.
I shifted my gaze to him and gently pinched his arm. "What are we doing here anyway?" I asked while examining his side profile. He was keeping a stoic face until we reached a cabin. The staff gave him a key before excusing himself to prepare something I do not know.
Lincoln pushed the door open for us. Dragging me inside by my arm and immediately slammed the door closed then he gently pinned me on it. His hand gripped my jaw and tilt my head upwards so that I can properly meet his eyes.
"I know you were with Damian last night," he stated. His voice sounded dark and cold while his eyes bear no emotions.
My eyes went wide for a couple of seconds before I scoffed. Now it's clear. The one who kept on following me in the mall was one of his workers. Why am I not surprised?
"Indeed," I replied. Leaning my back against the door as I crossed my arms while staring at him after pulling my head away from his grip, "what is it to you anyway?"
My question seems to catch him off guard. I saw how he protrude his tongue on his inner cheek at my words. He then shook his head before placing both of his hands on each side of my head. Head tilted to his left after leaning his face close to mine.
"Getting a lot braver, aren't we?" He whispered, I can feel his warm breath touching my face.
"And you're getting a lot more foolish," I replied with a smirk sculpted on my lips.
Lincoln clenched his jaw along with his teeth gritting against each other. Looking down at me, we end up having a silent war. Our eyes battled in a staring contest and none of us was willing to lose.
I raised an eyebrow at him when he moved closer to me. His hands that were once resting on the door suddenly grabbed me by my hips. Pressing his body against mine as he claimed my lips.
The kiss started roughly, filled with anger and irritation that we've been holding towards one another. Instead of nibbling each other's lips, we were biting and sucking them harshly. Earning each of us a deep groan.
Lincoln wrapped an arm around my waist as his free hand cupped my cheek to deepen the kiss. My arms on the other hand wrapped around his neck. His tongue lick my upper lip, asking for permission to enter my mouth but I did not give him the access. I simply kept on kissing him the same way as earlier.
I felt that he got frustrated at my actions which caused him to slip his hand on my butt and all of a sudden he smacked it. The impact made me gasp in surprise which he took as an opportunity to slip his tongue in between my lips. Swirling it around my mouth and to mine.
His hand traveled down my thigh and lifted it, raising my foot off of the ground. His growing bulge rubs against my abdomen as I manage to balance myself on one foot.
Lincoln was about to slip his other hand inside my shirt when someone knocked on the door. It ruined the whole moment and Lincoln was hissing in annoyance as he let me go. Pulling the door open and was ready to spat words at whoever interrupted but then his face fell once he saw who that person is.
My eyebrows furrowed at his expression. Confused, I walked over to the opened door and my eyes went huge after seeing who it was.
"Mrs. Sandoval."
