Capítulo 17: We are not a good match

Ana walked slowly behind Shiao as they exited the restaurant. She was careful not to fall from the heels she was wearing.

Everything about trying to fit into the role of a perfect fiancée was new to Ana.

Having studied outside the country after her high school education. Ana was now back to fulfil her role as the fiancée of Yu

Shiao who was now the General manager of Yu Music Group and the director of Yu Entertainment Agency.

Even though they have been communicating on daily basis and developed feelings for each other, they were now going to get even closer now that they were all in the same city.

''Ana…''

''Shiao!''

They both called each other at the same time.

''Go on first.'' Ana said.

''No, you go first.'' Shiao insisted.

''I… there is a coffee shop not far from there. Let's go for coffee'' Ana suggested.

Shiao looked at his car and said to her, ''get into the car. I will send us there.''

''Okay!'' Ana hurried over and they got into the car.

Ana sipped the coffee and smiled saying, ''I like this place because their coffee taste really great.''

''Ana, here.'' Shiao placed a blank cheque in front of Ana. It already had his signature and everything except the amount on it.

''What is this, Shiao?'' Ana asked as she looked at the cheque.

''Take it. You can write any amount you want in it and it will be credited to your account''

''Yu Shiao, what do you mean by this?'' Ana placed the coffee in her hand on the table and adjusted her pair of greyish spectacles.

''Ana, let's break up.'' Shiao said coldly.

''Why?'' Ana's face distorted and her lips trembled.

''We are not a good match!''

''We… we are not a good match? Shiao, tell me. Did I do something wrong? Is there something you don't like about me? I can change it as long as you tell me what I've done wrong, I will change it.'' Ana said as her voice choked.

The hurt in her voice was clearly shown in her eyes.

''This is not about you, Ana. I know, we've been having good communications and have fallen in love but I just don't feel that we are a good match.''

''Shiao, we have known each other for so long. How can we not be a good match?''

''Ana, I'm sorry. If I announce the breakup, your family will be disgraced so I will give you the chance to make the announcement. Let everyone think that you are not satisfied with me that's why you are breaking up with me. You can come up with whatever reason you want for the breakup. I will accept it.''

''What?'' For a brief moment, Ana was rendered speechless by Shiao's suggestion.

''If the breakup comes from your side, then your family will still maintain their dignity in the society. Keep this cheque and write in any amount you want. That should be enough for a breakup fee.''

''Bastard!'' Ana picked the cheque and tore it into pieces and threw it at Shiao. She picked the glass of coffee and poured it on Shiao before standing to her feet.

Ana picked her bag and turned to go, twisting her leg in the heel. She closed her eyes, taking in the pain silently. She bent down and removed the heels and walked out barefooted.

Present day…

Ana splashed water over her face and sighed. She picked a towel and wiped her face before walking out of the bathroom.

''Good morning, my love!'' Jessy said when she saw Ana walking out of the bathroom.

''Good morning, empress.'' Ana replied.

''Guess what I made for you today, my love?'' Jessy pointed at the table as she spoke, ''I woke up just to make this special Thai special dish for you. See if you can recall the delicious taste of your maternal land.''

Ana smiled and sat down. She looked at the table and gave Jessy a thumps up saying, ''this indeed brings me back to the time I was with my mother. Thanks for reminding me of who I am.''

Ana's mother was from Thailand and Ana had a lot of her features.

''You are welcome. Dig in. Today, we are not going to work. We are ditching to go play.''

''What do you mean?'' Ana chuckled.

''I don't care what work you have left, if you are going to get fired because of a day off, then so be it.''

''Alright, little missy. Sit down and let's eat.'' Ana pulled Jessy to the chair and they sat down.

''Let's eat. I already have the places we will go in my mind. I have the whole map in my head.''

''Your mind is made up already? Okay, let's go out and have fun. When I get fired, you can give me some shares from your café.'' Ana said and they both laughed.

Yu Manor.

Lin Shen walked to the dining table with Shiao and joined their parents at the table.

''Mom!''

''Little Lin is here, sit down. You are just in time for breakfast.''

''Father, good morning!'' Lin Shen greeted his father before sitting at the table.

''You are done roaming and now is back home.'' Yu Huo said.

''I came because mom asked me. I wouldn't have come otherwise.'' Lin Shen said.

It was obvious he and his father didn't get along well.

''You…'' Yu Huo looked at Lin Shen and felt his pressure rising

''Honey, that's enough. Lin just came home. We are in front of food, let's not fight.'' Jiajia stepped in.

''You pamper him so much that he doesn't respect his elders. Look at him? At his age, he still wants to play around instead of helping his brother to manage the companies. What nonsense interview he did.'' Yu Huo said as he looked at Lin Shen.

''Father, Lin Shen just came back. Let him have some time to himself for a while. He will join the Group soon. There is still more time.'' Shiao spoke.

''He is 27 years, what more time does he need? You too, until when will you mourn the loss of your first love? That girl dumped you for her career but you are still helping her behind the scenes. Do you think she will come back to you just because you are good to her?''
