Capítulo 45: The invasion
--Narrator pov ---
Chaos, a word that describes so much, but so little, the word chaos is defined as complete disorder and confusion. The League member's minds are in a state of confusion and disorder in other words absolute chaos. Why? Well because their leader just told them New York is going to be invaded by aliens.
-flashback-
In a large room, a platform was raised above the rest of the smooth ground, standing on top of said platform was a man wearing a plague doctor outfit with the commanders of the League behind him.
250 members of the League stood before their boss, the doctor of death, the one man who rules the underworld with an iron fist.
There are more people in the league but some members have more important tasks at hand. The doctor slowly raised his hand signaling to the crowd to quiet down.
"New York, one of the most populated states in all of America, a place where kids run free with their friends, a place where opportunities can be found on every corner, that is New York." the doctor said his voice sinfully charismatic
He waited for what he just said to sink in then continued,
"New York is about to be thrown into chaos, an unimaginable death toll will befall us, Aliens will invade New York, I am not joking I don't make jokes this will happen people will die. Fewer people will die with us there to defend them. Yes, you heard me we the League Of Shadows will defend New, York. Some of you might be asking yourself why? Why help New York? Simply, we are killers but not horrible people, stand with me to defend the state of New York to fight against the aliens and to he the hope of the people." Norman said grandly
As soon as he was finished loud applause sounded out echoing throughout the room, Norman once again captures the hearts of others with his words.
--flashback end---
In another part of New York jean grey host of the Phoenix made a similar speech to her order.
"This is our time our debut! We shall show the world what a true metahuman is by protecting them from this horrible invasion. My allies have told me about this and now I tell you, be safe my friends for this battle will be hard but never forgotten." she said confidently and calmly
'Good speech!' nix said in her head
'Thanks, partner.' Jean replied
'Anytime.' nix said
The order of the Phoenix was ready.
In another location, shield was frantically preparing to face their biggest threat yet, the Chitauri invasion, blindly following the ludicrous belief they are the only ones that know about it.
While the avengers were speedily making their way back to New York, a huge portal appeared in the sky, the one melodic rhythm of cars honking and people walking stopped, everyone stared agape as aliens began to pour out of the portal, the chaos has started.
-break-
"Help!" a child cried her mom was smashed under the rubble
Just as an alien was about to kill her too a shadow latched onto its skull and pulled.
The league was here.
All around New York shadows were emerging from the ground dispatching the alien race. People, dressed as assassins started to strike defending the masses.
In another location the chitauri were attacking relentlessly, the league hasn't arrived at this location yet and innocent people are going to die.
One person, one civilian, one metahuman, stood his ground and yelled, "I will not let you destroy my home!"
After he screamed the man pointed his hand forward, all of the sudden every plant in the area, every vine, every tree, started to attack the aliens.
"Metahumans stand with me!" the man shouted
A domino effect happened because of this one brave man, the people in his area started to fight back, metahumans around New York started to attack the chitauri forces, most didn't even know of the brave man. They just wanted to defend their home.
In another location stood two solitary aliens,
"Proxima, it looks like these little humans think they can beat us." said a weird-looking alien
"Your right Corvus, these weak humans actually think they can win." Proxima replied
The two were about to take their place on the battlefield when red-haired women with unimaginable power appeared in front of them blasting Corvus with a concentrated telekinesis push.
He flew back and Yelena and Laura popped out behind him. Proxima tried to help but Rogue, gambit, and the Siberian super soldiers blocked her path.
"Argh move out of the way humans!" She shouted
"No thanks!" Gambit said throwing playing cards at her
*boom*
*boom*
The fight between Thanos's children the Black Order versus the shadow League and Order of the Pheonix starts now.
Norman appeared on the tower of Stark Industries, he came to retrieve the Tesseract. He expected to see Loki at least but not Loki and Cull Obsidian.
"Well, what do we have here another mortal that dares to confront his ruler," Loki said with a smirk
"Loki son of Odin, no that's not right Loki son of Laufey correct?" Norman replied calmly
"How do you know that mortal!" Loki yelled
"Haha because I do now if you will excuse me I am taking the stone now," norman replied
Before norman could move Cull turned and rushed at him, expertly using his telekinesis Norman pushed his body off to the side.
*pah* where he landed norman turned the shadows into a coffin and started to drain culls life force. Loki on the other hand used illusions to hide, like a cat he was stalking Norman, his prey waiting for the right moment to plunge his dagger into Norman's skull. Norman slowly made his way toward the Tesseract, his shoes tapping on the floor softly, his demeanor looked calm and relaxed.
*swoosh* Loki lunged forward attempting to plunge his dagger into Norman's skull, *swossh* faster than Loki could see Norman spun around using his telekinesis to slow Lokis's approach, *pah* Norman caught Loki's wrist.
"You are nothing Loki, you aren't a god you are a pathetic Frost Giant, you treat those who raised you like trash and you DARE to invade my planet," Norman ranted
Pale green flames started to emerge from Norman's hand slowly Loki's body was covered in green life force sucking flames.
"Argghhhhh!!!" He shouted
*boom* Cull blew out of his coffin and rushed Norman, forcing normal to let go of Loki but the flames still raged strongly.
Cull's chain hammer flew toward Norman, using his telekinesis Norman stopped the attack midair then flew the hammer around Cull's body chaining the alien with his own weapon.
*tap*
*tap*
*tap*
The rhythmic sound of Norman's shoes on the floor as he walked was the last sound Cull heard before his head was chopped clean off with a blade of shadows.
Thanos will definitely not be pleased.
---in another location 30 minutes earlier---
Captain America, Iron man, black widow, Bruce Banner, Hawkeye, and Thor showed up to the fight, what they saw was not what anyone expected metahumans were defending New York in tandem with the League Of Shadows.
Natasha looked around and saw Yelena, she yelled, "Yelena?!"
Yelena whipped her head in Natasha's direction and said, " you're rather late sister."
"Haha Steve good to see you alive and well." Bucky said from the side
Steve Rogers aka Captain America spun around to see Bucky barns alive and well, "Bucky? How are you alive." Steve said in an emotional tone
"Not now lets defend New York." Bucky said
"Right Avengers let's go!" Steve said
—in another location ---
Spiderman was swinging around New York doing what he can to help the people. Peter was a good kid he loved helping people, and that's what he can do as spiderman, Peter swung around a building and saw a massacre, alien corpses were splattered into the ground, a lone figure stood in the center, peters old enemy that he wasn't seen in forever.
"Well, spiderman shall we take care of these aliens?" the charismatic voice of the masked man sounded
"Ha let's do it!" Peter yelled with a smile,
''For today we can work together'' Both of them thought
-- Norman pov --
I turned to look at the state of New York, the buildings are barely standing, the people are dying, humans are so fragile but strong, the metahumans are defending New York as I thought they would, and everyone else is helping, the problem I now face is that the invasion this time around is much bigger than it should be.
I got reports that jean and some of my commanders had to fight Proxima and Corvus. Why is Thanos sending so much more manpower?
I made a decision, no nuke has been launched yet so I can end this. I stepped forward and inserted Lokis scepter into the machine. Giving it a turn the portal closed. I quickly stored the Tesseract and scepter in my shadows and then made my way to the edge of Stark tower. I saw It, I saw what I never want to see again. The destruction and chaos the death and agony the sadness and grief, the lost looks. I saw all of it, I couldn't help it my eyes and ears are better than anyone well harry has better hearing but that's it.
I heard the cries, the begging, the yelling of the last moments of life, I heard what the sound of Chaos was.
Shadows, my shadows, New York's shadows, regular people's shadows, metahuman shadows, every single shadow I could sense, started moving to my will, people suffering with no hope of survival were gentle put to rest, aliens those damn creatures were killed and had the life force drained out of them.
It looked as if New York became a city of shadows, there was no chance of survival, no chance of mercy, and no chance of forgiveness. Criminals that tried to take advantage of the situation were slaughtered. I also stored some of the chitauri's corpses in the shadows.
I descended from Stark tower. I was greeted by civilians, the order of the phoenix, the avengers, and some of the league. I could tell the avengers wanted to bring up the Tesseract but there were too many people.
"Today a tragedy befell the state of New York, many innocent lives were lost, many people are grieving, many people lost their homes. But, it could have been more! It could have been more people, more families, more houses, it could have been more! If not for the brave actions of the metahuman and human civilians working together to defend their home more people would have died. For that, I thank you for the assistance." I said loudly
"Thor Loki is the shriveled up guy on top of Stark tower," I said
I was about to leave when a rainbow beam hit me and I was all of the sudden in front of an old man that looked very powerful,
"I have finally found you Jinn! Your disgusting kind doesn't get to live!" Shouted the old man
I know who it is, my breather hitched, before me standing tall, looking ready for war is Odin the Allfather.
"Well, then shall we dance Odin?" I said calmly
