Capítulo 5: chapter 5
as I was waiting, I remembered something that happened in the series after Ragnar and his son Bjorn left the house two men attacked his wife legertha and tried to rape her so if my mother stays alone at home she will be in danger so I asked Fenris through our bond to patrol the area after we leave and kill anyone that approaches the house other than us.
after that, I collect some supplies to take with me on our journey
after my father and granduncle woke up and prepared, we left the house with the horse that my uncle came with, in these times having a horse was a luxurious thing only noble and rich men have them as they are expensive to keep and this shows how rich the jomsviking are.
the journey to Kattegat was not that long by this time's standards about 8 hours of walking that I spend on the back of the horse.
when we arrived at Kattegat it was evening but it was lively in there because many pilgrims pass through here to go to Upsala, it's not a trade hub as it will be in the future but it is still crowded place for Viking.
for example, since I was born in this world I have never seen more than 20 Vikings in one place other than here the whole countryside is sparsely populated.
as we entered the market place I see many slave traders buying slaves that the Vikings have got from recent raids the slaves are mostly slavs from the east there are also many trading foods like fish, cabbages and brown braid, clothes made of animal skins, or accessories like neckless and bracelets that are made of animal or human bones we passed through the market and went to a local inn to sleep the night.
when we entered the inn we found six men partying, they were drinking, singing, and fucking they kept talking about the raid that they just got back from.
we entered the inn and sat at a table my father called the servant girl to get us some ale and hot water for me I was 5 after all after drinking for a while we went to sleep.
in the morning on the next day, Thorfell left after saying that he will take the horse and go to visit his friend on his farm, as for me and my father we went to the market to buy supplies for our travels to the jomsviking territory that will take 3 months and we also bought a cart to put all the supply in and for the horse to drag it.
after half a day of shopping, we returned to the inn to find Thorfell standing in front of it with a man and two children one my age another younger than me
Thorfell: "come young balder meet my friend Lothbrok and his sons Rollo and Ragnar they will be your friends in the future "
balder: "hello I am Balder son of Olaf, nice meeting you"
'i m meeting Ragnar and Roll too early I didn't expect my grand-uncle and their father to be friends'
the rest of the day passed with me Rollo and Ragnar stayed together talking and playing games while my father, granduncle, and their father drank and talked about the past.
we separated the next morning as we had to go back home to take mother and start our journey to our new home I gained a lot from this trip to Kattegat I made two new friends sure they are still just kids right now but they are two of the greatest known Vikings in the future.
so we left Kattegat after saying goodbye to the Lothbrok family, I looked back at it from afar, as I know this will be the last time I see it for years
we returned home after a few hours our trip was shorter because of the carriage as we got closer to the house I saw a few corps in the woods, I know it was Fenris that killed them thank the gods that I let her guard the house, I wasn't the only one that noticed them my father noticed too so he runs to the house worrying that something happened to my mother
