Capítulo 10: MISUNDERSTANDING
He doesn't know how many times someone he recognized so well he contacted so that he who knew about it immediately sighed.
After a few moments of waiting, finally, the call was connected so David immediately spoke after hearing the voice of someone who answered from the other side.
"Hello," said Manu. "This is the umpteenth time you've contacted me, sorry I couldn't answer it. What's wrong?"
David who heard it immediately sighed for a moment before finally saying, "I need your help, Manu. Can you help me?" he asked.
"Hm, as long as I can still do the work, then I will help."
"Still with the same person," David said with a heavy sigh. "Can you help me track her down?"
"That foreign girl?" asked Manu with a furrowed brow. "Seems like your life hasn't been quite calm lately, has it. She's got the balls to bother you too."
"I wouldn't be like this if she didn't continue to be around my Mansion. Right now I'm worried about Jane," said David with one hand currently pinching the bridge of his nose. "She seems to think that I'm in a relationship with someone else, even though I've never been with anyone and you know that, right?"
Manu who heard it immediately chuckled, the man took a deep breath before finally speaking again.
"So you're still with her? I thought you'd forgotten about her."
"What do you mean?" asked David with a furrowed brow. "I've never had any relationship with Jane, she's still my best friend."
"Friends of love you mean?" Manu pouted.
"Hey, don't piss me off today."
Hearing that made Manu chuckle and then shake his head after hearing what someone who was there just said.
"Haha, I was just joking and you took it seriously."
"I've been tired lately," David said with his eyes closed. "Why has my life become heavy since the arrival of that strange girl, huh?"
"You're the one overthinking it, David. You'd better not worry too much about it, because she's just a stranger after all."
"Even so, still I can't see Jane like this. She must be secretly holding so many questions, but can't express them."
"I don't understand you, David. You love her very much, but you don't want to change your status with her as more than just a friend. Haven't you ever thought that a woman would be hurt if she continued like that?"
David who heard it immediately fell silent contemplating the man's words.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to meddle in your business, but … how long are you going to continue like this? After all, your father already wants a grandson from you, wouldn't it be nice if you and Jane lived together? He would be very happy to hear that."
Even David did not understand himself. He knew he was guarding his heart for one woman and it had been a long time, but he also didn't want to change the status of their old friends just because he was afraid of a 'loss'.
"What should I do, Manu?"
Someone on the other side who heard it immediately sighed for a moment before finally shaking his head.
"I don't even understand what you want, David. How can you ask me that, huh?"
"Just answer me please," paused David with a face so pitiful. "Please ..."
The atmosphere was quiet again with Manu currently feeling sorry for his friend. David is a good person, and all the news about the guy liking the same sex is certainly not true. He knew that his best friend had loved a woman for a long time, and he also knew that they loved each other.

Jane was struggling to hold back her tears, she shouldn't have said that to David either. But somehow she wanted to know if that man had someone else in her life besides her?
She knew that this was indeed difficult, she should understand the boundaries because David is just a friend. But, why does it hurt so much?
"I've loved someone before you, but ... your arrival makes my life have to love two people at once." She took a deep breath before finally speaking again, "Not for long, because I don't want to hurt both of them, so I choose one of them, and that is you."
While she was looking out the bedroom window, suddenly someone knocked on the door so that she who knew this immediately turned her head back and walked towards the door.
The door opened and a maid stood in front of her with a tray, making Jane who knew this immediately sighed.
"Sorry, but Mr. Young asked me to deliver her lunch to the room."
"For who?" asked Jane.
"Mr. Young said for Madam."
The woman who heard it immediately sighed before finally saying, "Okay, just keep it inside and I'll eat it later."
The maid walked into the room and put the tray on the table before finally leaving the room and Jane closed the door.
"Huh ... even though I'm not hungry, but why is he---"
The sound of the phone ringing made her stop immediately and then she turned her attention to her phone. There was a name that she recognized so well that those who knew it immediately sighed before finally answering.
"Hello."
"Why did you even keep it?"
Jane's brow furrowed at the man's words so the woman immediately looked around to make sure there was no CCTV in her room.
"Do you think that I installed a CCTV camera inside?"
Jane snorted in amusement, then said, "I'd hate you if you did," she said. "I deliberately kept it because I didn't need to eat."
"Don't be like that, Jane." David took a deep breath before finally saying, "I'm sorry."
Of course, the woman who heard it immediately frowned upon hearing what the person on the other side had just said.
"Hey, why are you apologizing to me?"
"I thought about what you said in the car." David took a deep breath before finally speaking again, "I have something to tell you."
Jane immediately sighed for a moment before the woman finally said, "I'm sorry, it was my fault, not yours."
"No, it's my fault, Jane. I didn't tell you, because I felt it was unnecessary to talk about it. But I was wrong."
"Sorry?"
"Yes, I regret it."
Unknowingly, her eyes began to glaze over, which made Jane feel even more breathless.
"Who's she?" he asked with a forced smile. "I want to meet her."
"Jane ..." David called.
"I don't mind if you do love him, David. You should have told it earlier, so I didn't have to do this to you."
"Hey, she's not what you think she is."
The woman who heard it immediately smiled, even though it felt painful for herself.
"No, it's not something I should be concerned about. I'll leave if you don't feel comfortable with me in your Mansion."
"No, Jane. Don't go, listen to me first, she's a foreign girl and I don't know her."
Jane's brow immediately furrowed after hearing what someone there had just said, making her who knew about it immediately sighed.
"Why didn't you say so from the start?"
"How can I tell you if you don't stop talking in the first place."
"David!" Jane snorted in annoyance, her eyes glistening with tears. The woman felt that it was useless to cry so now she said again, "You didn't know that, did you?"
"Knowing what?" he asked with raised eyebrows. "What don't I know?"
After that, the woman breathed a sigh of relief because it turned out that David didn't realize she was crying, which made her smile with satisfaction.
"Why are you silent?" the man continued.
"Oh, no, it's nothing, David. Oh, yes, then what are you going to do?"
"What?" David asked.
"Foreign girl," answered Jane. "Are you going to just let it be?"
"I've met her twice, but the first one surprised me."
Jane who knew it immediately nodded her head, then was silent for a moment before finally speaking again.
"Wait, does that mean that the foreign girl I met is her?"
"Yeah, she's the one. I don't understand where she came from and why she's suddenly beside me? Huh, all annoying, why should I get involved in a scandal that I didn't even do at all."
"Well, forget it. Besides, even if I hear your news all over the place, I won't stay away from you right away."
"Why?" David asked. "Don't you feel hurt?"
"It's because I believe in you, David. I'll only believe it if I hear it directly from you."
Immediately David curled the corners of his lips into a happy smile after hearing what someone who was there just said, made who knew about it immediately sighed.
"I love you, Jane."
"Me too."
This is what makes David fall in love with the woman who has been by his side for a long time. Someone who has never asked or demanded anything from him so he now doesn't want to be separated from Jane.
"Jane, you know that I don't want to let you go, right?"
"I know," Jane said with a genuine smile. "It's just that I also gave myself to wait for you."
"Sorry." David felt guilty, but the man loved her. "Because I've been selfish."
"Never mind, I'm hungry now."
Hearing that made David immediately raise his eyebrows after someone on the other side spoke. The man took a deep breath before finally curling the corners of his lips up into a smile.
"Oh, yes, I almost forgot about it. Well, you better hurry to lunch."
"How about you?" asked Jane who was now sitting in front of a tray that had been on the table. "Don't say that you only care about me, but you forget yourself."
David was silent for a moment before finally saying, "Don't worry, I'll have lunch after talking to you."
"Good, then see you later."
"See you later."
