Time flew by and in a blink of an eye, 4 years had passed.
In the evening,
"A.I. chip, show me my current stats!" Tirus commanded the A.I. chip.
[Name: Tirus Van Elrod, Occupation: Knight, strength: 2.8, agility: 3.1, vitality: 2.7, status: Healthy]
After Tirus's first meditation session, his growth speed had slowed down considerably. However, due to his continuous effort these past 4 years, he had reached this point in his knight cultivation and had gained internal energy, something that gave him yet another boost in his stats.
"A.I. chip, how long will it take me to reach the level of a grand knight?" he asked in curiosity.
[Host would need to cultivate for another 4 years to break through to grand knight]
'Oh well it's not like I lack time. Perhaps, by that time, I'd already be a grade 3 acolyte!' He thought.
He had felt that his father was planning on sending him to a magus academy. All Tirus had to do was keep up his pretense of a young genius and his father would do everything in his power to get him into the academy.
"I'm already 12, if by the next year, I can't get into a magus academy, then I'd just stay a noble and eventually become a grand knight!" Tirus was a logical person, he knew that he may not get the chance to become a magus just because he was a genius or just because he had an A.I. chip.
If he couldn't become a magus, then he'd just maintain his position as a noble and eventually become a grand knight and keep improving his family's technique.
What about being a warlock? Why only aim to be a magus?
The answer was simple, a warlock needs a strong bloodline in order to make advancements, plus there's also the bloodline shackles.
Leylin was able to get such a strong bloodline because of pure luck, forget about the bloodline, Tirus didn't even know the location where Leylin got his inheritance.
In these past years, Tirus had read tens of books about history of south coast and this kingdom, and by the looks of it, he had reincarnated at least 3,000 years before the canon started.
3,000 years was a really long time, it was enough for hundreds or even thousands of mortal kingdoms to be created and destroyed.
Most of the information Tirus had from reading the novel was not usable at all. Actually, Tirus hadn't actually completed the entire book, he had read the first few hundred chapters and then tens of random chapters from here and there so the information that he had was quite incomplete.
If he had just forgotten the information, then he could just use the A.I. chip to refresh his memories, but the problem was that he had not read most chapters at all, so how could he refresh his memory about something he never read?
"No need to dwell on my past mistakes now, I have the A.I. chip and such a good background from the start, if I still can't reach at least rank 7 after becoming a magus, then what would even be the point of this reincarnation?!" He thought.
He knew all the information about the cultivation realms of the series, so that also gave him an advantage.
"Young master, the lady has called for you." Lyle, the peak level knight, stood at the door of Tirus's room as she told him.
The grand knights that the Elrod estate had were the ones who got gravely injured in the war and had no future prospects left, eventually, ending up being sold as slaves to the nobles.
The Elrod estate was declining, this was no secret, but they still had enough money to buy at least two grand knights. His mother's personal guard, Lyle, a peak level knight, was someone employed by his mother's side of family and sent here as a show of their authority and power.
"Tell her I'm coming!" Tirus gave a nod to Lyle.
….
"Tirus, you are now 12 years old, it's time for you to get some real experience in fights as you may be leaving next year…." Elena said.
"Where to?" Tirus asked while putting on a puzzled expression.
"Tirus, your father has made all the necessary arrangements for you so you'll leave for the magus academy next year…I've heard that only being abke to survive there is a difficult task, and so, I want you to be well prepared for life and death experiences." She said in a slightly melancholic tone.
It was evident that she wasn't happy about the news of her son leaving the house. There had been instances when son and daughters of noble families went to become magus disciples but they either died during missions or for some unknown reasons. The possibility of her son ending up dead was enough to give her a nervous breakdown.
"Tirus, I...love you" She said as she leaned forward and kissed him on his forehead.
"I love you too mother!" Tirus said in a childish tone.
Elena was used to acting indifferent, and so, this conversation was making her confused as to what to say next. This caused an awkward silence to fill the room.
"..." After a while, Elena broke the silence.
"Okay, then go to your room." Elena told him as he soon made his way to his room.
'And I still have to go hunting tommorow.' He thought while rubbing his palms together.
Knight cultivation had increased his vitality tremendously.
He could now practise sword arts continuously for hours and still have enough stamina to run a marathon. This was the main reason for him wanting to become a grand knight because once he did, just his physical body would be stronger any ordinary humans and even some low rank magi.
'Having a strong body feels soo good!'
