The soft light of dawn began to filter through the windows of the royal chamber, casting long shadows over the naked bodies of Artios and Helena, still entwined in the silk sheets after a night of passion. The atmosphere was tranquil, a rare moment of intimacy amid the responsibilities that weighed on the king.
Suddenly, a firm knock on the door interrupted the peace.
— Your Majesty, are you awake? It's urgent! — Kalmir's voice pierced the silence, laden with a seriousness that could not be ignored.
Helena quickly pulled the sheets to cover herself. Artios let out an exasperated sigh but allowed Kalmir to enter.
The minister opened the door slowly, keeping his eyes down as he advanced into the room. He didn't want to disturb his king's rest early in the morning, but the gravity of what he brought demanded this boldness.
