"Hi!"
Blinking in disbelief, then opening my eyes back. As if I realized about something, quickly I woke up.
"Riki?" I called.
He glared but afterward laughed. "How rude of you called my name that way, ah, by the way, sorry to enter your room without your permission. Is she Ms. Minah? She said she's busy so she can't wake you up," he explained without me asking for.
"Oh," I replied.
I pulled the blanket off and went to the bathroom. I don't care what Riki says, he may be my senior at school but he's nobody at home, right?
Washed my face, brushed my teeth, then combed my hair. No need to change the clothes or have a conversation with him, quickly I went downstairs. Uh, ahem, I'm two floors up and my room happens to be upstairs. It's tiring enough to go up and down, but how can I ask more when I don't even can make them proud?
"Miss?"
From the look on that woman's face, I knew she was letting Riki into my room on purpose. Clearly, the reason must have been as I had in my mind when it shouldn't have come to that.
"Take your seats. Riki, had you taken breakfast? If not yet, come take breakfast together," asked Ms. Minah.
Ah, I almost forgot to offer him a seat, too. It's because we never receive visitors, more further so early in the morning.
"Take a seat, Bro," I added with a little smile to him.
He's a guest, nothing more.
"Incidentally hasn't eaten yet, Ms. Can I have some food?" he said with a tingle.
Cih, have some food your ass. I was convinced that he was just making it up. Looking like a spoiled brat must've had breakfast in this early hour. I'm sure and it can't be wrong.
"It's a great coincidence that I cook many foods today. Here, here, let me feed you," Ms. Answered.
She lied, too. How has she ever cooked this much? It must have been added on purpose to get Riki to join us for breakfast. Hah, what a fool world haha.
"Thanks, Ms.!" Riki replied cheerfully.
Shaking my head in disbelief, I had breakfast and listened to their chitchat.
The point is Riki came to take me out. It's a good thing he didn't come on Wednesdays, or maybe Ms. Minah wouldn't take it even under the name of a guest or a friend.
After breakfast, I changed my clothes. For some reason, it seemed like there was nothing wrong with hanging out with him. Wednesdays and other days I would have been a little different, but at least the brain is sane and can differentiate which is good and right.
"To the garden next resident?" I asked him.
Seriously, for a girl who's never interacted before, I think he's really weird. His easygoing manner, and I was also comfortable at his side.
"Yes, you're okay with that, right?/Uh, by the way, my house there, eh, my dad's house. Before you go back, take a visit, can you?"
Isn't that a bargain? It might be cheesy, but my heart told me it's better to just follow him. There's nothing wrong if I made a gap again, as long as everything goes as it should and it's natural. Then it would have been ended up nicely, wouldn't it?
"Yes," I answered curtly.
Just like he said. Walk around, so we walk side by side.
"Actually since when do you see me?" I asked first. Haha, this is the first time in a long time I've constrained myself to the world and the neighborhood.
And anyway he knows my worst side, he comes back instead of running away means he's not the same man as previously.
"Don't you better ask me how I know your house?" he asked me back.
I stopped walking, looked at him curiously then grinned. Well, damn it he knew what was coming to mind.
"That's the concept, but you couldn't have searched out if you hadn't seen me before. So, I'm not wrong about the question I just asked you, am I?" I'm relaxed say that.
He froze, even his hands scratching the back of his head. Once I read a novel where something like that means a guy gets nervous, right?
Saw never done that, when Riki my heart warms up on its own. Huh! I'm just now back in the comparing. While I know how much it hurts to be in that position, like nobody else considered me.
"I didn't know you were the kind of girl who wouldn't be lost. Fine, since the first day of school? You're the one who drove me to the principal's office. Don't you remember? My heart was wounded," he said with laughter.
Dish-!
I can't believe he's humorous. It's too bad we had our first contact on Wednesday.
"Is that so? Sorry, I'm literally didn't like to memorize useless stuff," I'm being sarcastic.
Such a trivial thing, how can he still remember it? Damn, indeed, people can be crazy when they are attracted to the opposite sex. Not to be insulting but I've done such useless things like this before.
"It's hard," he said suddenly after being silent for a long time enough.
"Hem?"
"Coming into your life is hard. It's funny how I even liked it, ah, the feels is strange, I can't describe it," he said.
After a while, we were both silent, but back walked side by side as well, of course. Every once in a while he told me about his life, and I get comfortable.
Riki Prasetya. It's his full name, a year ahead of me and he has an older sister and a younger sister who are still in junior high school. Women, Riki said his younger sister is very fussy.
I just eavesdrop on him, honestly, he overdoes it sometimes. When did our relationship become this close to discussing family matters? I don't know, don't ask because I am still confused by the comfort he gives me.
"Why don't you sit down? You like siomay, right? I'll buy you a snack, you want some cold water or flavored one?" offered him when we get to the park.
As he had ordered, I sat down on the bench, looked around and there was a siomay seller. But it seems like I don't—
"Okay you need one, right? Without tofu, and add a sauce little bit much, that's right?" he added.
I froze, how much he knew about my life that he even knew something so small. Even though I was upset I kept nodding lightly, just letting things slide, it was probably the right thing to do.
"Yes, the drink is an orange-flavored one," I told him.
He seemed to hold back his laugh. "I know that, no need to repeat that," he replied.
I squeaked. Ah, he's a pain in the ass, huh!
"Then why are you asking?"
Without realizing it, his openness made me want to lean on him. Not answering, Riki just smirked and said goodbye to buy me as ordered.
Damn him, I didn't order anything but he was the one who offered me.
"Sweet," I blurted out, not knowing what this was for.
Anyway, for a moment there was a butterfly in my stomach. Tickled until my lips are pulled up to form a beautiful smile, perhaps.
"Can I be happy?"
Suddenly that question passed by on my mind.
