Capítulo 17: ADELLE'S DIARY I

I suddenly woke up as I looked around, it seemed that it was midnight. The surroundings were pitch black only the moon was the source of light coming from the windows. I lit the lights and candles to light the room.

I take a peek around Adelle's room; the villa is far more luxurious than this one. This room appears to be rather plain. I went to her desk and noticed all of Adelle's interests.

"She must enjoy embroidery," I mumbled to myself. I saw all of her art and paintings. it's really beautiful. She has many books to read about...politics? how can a little girl understand that? As I was about to open the drawer under her desk. I couldn't pull it out.

"It's locked," I mumbled again. Where is the key? I looked around to find the keys but I couldn't find them anywhere inside the room. where could she possibly hide it? I looked under the bed to see if there was a clue in it.

~~~~A moment later~~~~

I searched everywhere inside the room and I couldn't find it. I throw my body on the bed. I let a deep sigh

"Adelle, what were you thinking..." I mumble again as I look at the ceiling.

I stand up and gaze at the photo of Rina holding Adelle in her arms.

I caress it unconsciously, but then I see the surface is uneven. I quickly opened the frame and discovered a key. Perhaps this is the key to her drawer. I run over to the desk and test the key to see whether it fits.

*clack*

It opened!

I saw a book. it doesn't have a title on the book cover. I opened it and it appeared to be a diary. I'm curious so, I've read it.

Dear Diary,

I'm excited to fill you with exciting and happy memories. I bought you at the merchants' stall in the town because you are the only one left and nobody has come to pick you up. so, I'm here because I get what you feel. when I lost my mother a year ago. nobody picked me since then and I hope that father would look at me again.

Adelle has been lonely since her mother died. The Marquess why wouldn't he pay attention to Adelle?

Dear Diary,

There's a Lady who always visits my father. they're always laughing and walking in the garden while holding hands. The lady also brought her daughter with her, whenever she visited. but she didn't want to play with me. did she hate me? She always pushes me around whenever we bump into the house. I just want to make friends with her but she calls me a freak. I'm not a freak diary. I just can't control my mana. but father said it was okay.

I forced Kaniz to go with me to the town to buy some art supplies for my father's birthday. I want to draw him and my mother. I'm sure he misses her as much I miss Mother so bad. I hope he likes it

Dear Diary,

It's my father's birthday today. it was so grand and we had a lot of guests. The sons and daughters of the nobles are always making fun of me. because I can't use my magic. but Duke Harrison's son is nice, he didn't make fun of me and stood up for me when the others were teasing me. I want to make friends with him but he doesn't like it. he said he didn't want to be friends with me and I should go off. I was really upset. I'm not a bad person but they don't want to be friends with me. people at the banquet like talking behind my back. they said that I was a disgrace to my family and I should have died instead of my mother. I wish my mother was here. she wouldn't let anyone say that to me.

Adelle was neglected by the people surrounding her. it's a pity that she's carrying it even though she's still young

I saw my painting in the trash. I couldn't ask my father why did he throw it away. but the gift he received from the daughter of the Lady that always visited here. he always keeps it himself. but why did he throw my gift? Kaniz picked it up for me and she said that if it was okay if I just give it to her. I was so happy that Kaniz loved my painting and I just gave it to her. Kaniz is such a lovely girl.

Father announces his marriage to Lady Melissa. She will be my mother too. I'm so excited to give her gifts and congratulate my father for finding me a new mother. but it seems like my uncle didn't like it and got angry at my father. uncle try to take me away, but I can't leave my father and my new mother. I just want to start and be like a daughter to her. even though my uncle tried to take me away, he's not a bad guy. he loves me and protects me. he happily accepted my gifts and he always gives me a new dress, whenever he visits me. but I also love my father so I can't go with him. I'm sorry uncle
