Capítulo 65: Loaren
Lin Cian looked at his newly got sister with an embarrassing smile while June also sheepishly smiled at her newly made brother. June had a painful past but a priceless present.
June was from a noble family. June was not very interested in other things but charms. Her interest was focused on spells and charms. She was a top-level mage in her town. She was from a small level noble family. Her family raised her as a suitable candidate for becoming the patriarch of the family. She was bounded with duties and unnecessary responsibilities.
June hasn't seen the outer world and has not much experience in how to deal with people. As a child, she didn't have an independent heart that would pound for her. The elders and her parents told her that her heart belongs to the family and it beat for the benefit of the family. Her family members always forced June to do something they want. They never cared about whether she loved them or not. She wanted to be a heartful woman but they desired her as a heartless person. They would throw her into a pack of beasts and ask her to fight them alone. They pushed her to her limit. She wanted to be a cheerful person but they wanted her to be a cruel and vicious person. She wanted to follow her heart but they forced her to accept that her family is her heart. When she doesn't want to accept someone her family pressured her to accept their opinions. They wanted her to marry a stronger person. They bought her many proposals where the men are cruel and heartless. They were bloodthirsty men who have killed people as if they were beasts. June turned everyone down. The only strongest opinion she made was not accepting the proposals of demons. They were either married and wanted her to be their mistress or some psychos who use to have pleasure in abusing and killing women wanted her to serve them.
The only soul who supported her decision was her younger brother Laoren. Unlike June, Laoren use to fool around the town and other places. When he was young he was not talented as June. He was always looked down by others including his parents. Only his sister June took care of him and shielded him whenever the elders wanted to throw him out of the family. But that didn't last long. After June was sent for secluded training Loren lived his life in hell. He ran away from the family when he felt he couldn't take anymore.
After three years when June came out from her secluded training, she was very furious and sad for her brother. She fought with the family members and injured many of them for hurting her brother. She became very desperate and her heart became cold. One fateful day she was wondering when she would see her brother again because she was not allowed to search for him. Even though she has injured many members of her family the elders were very strong for a person like her to defeat. She was surprised to see two people come looking for her. Her eyes fell onto the first person who was nearing her. As he came nearer and nearer her eyes widened in surprise for which she never dare to imagine. His light blue hair piqued something in her mind. His blue-colored pupils showed her his identity. suddenly she ran towards him and hugged him. She cried for a few minutes not realizing another person on the spot.
Loren who exactly calculated and was waiting for the return of his sister came to meet her along with his senior brother. After leaving the family he met a team of adventures and trained and lived with them. He loved to adventure various forests and dungeons. He always took his missions seriously and treated other members with care and respect despite their identity. June's eyes filled with tears when she heard about the experiences her brother have faced. "Sorry... sorry for not being with you... I couldn't protect you..." she blabbered. Her breath was not stable but rapid. Her tone collapsed when she said those words. She really felt sorry for everything. After all, he was her own blood who never judged her. He was the one who always comforted her. "It's ok sister. My seniors took care of me. You shall thank them" he coaxed her. She took a deep breath and nodded agreeing with his opinion.
She turned her head towards the other person who accompanied her brother to meet her. He was standing a few meters back. He was very silent but his cold gaze indicated that nothing can be escaped from his sight. When her eyes met him, her eyebrows raised to the extreme. Her eyes widened as if they were going to pop out. Her heart throbbed fast at the rate of a hundred kilometers per hour. Her posture became tensed and she felt something that she never felt before. The cold gaze emitted from his eyes felt like they would pierce her body. She felt very nervous to the point of blinking and gulping her saliva crazily.
His cold aura emitting look and brownish-black pupils made her heart pound even faster. The bulged and ripped muscles covered by the weird clothes he wore were clearly visible to her. He looked very mature but his looks were not something to be mentioned. But she stood as she was frozen by his looks but her body vibrated like a plucked string in an instrument. Suddenly someone cleared their throat and it was Laoren. He thought that she was shocked to see an outsider because it was her first experience. "This was my senior brother Harry Lockwood" Loaren introduced the outsider to her and Harry slightly bowed at her from the distance. Her jaw hanged loosely when she saw him nodding at her. She turned to look at her brother but she was not recovered from her shock yet. Loaren was not surprised by her reaction. After all, that was the exact reaction when he encountered the same. "His hearing ability was top-notch" Loaren answered calmly. She gulped and turned her head again to look at Harry who was standing a little far away from her. She sheepishly smiled at him while he just limited himself with another slight bow which almost looked like a nod.
She learned from Loaren that Harry have came here to escort her brother. She felt somewhat relaxed because she could feel that the members of the party her brother have joined were showing great care for her brother. She was a bit relieved to know that someone can give her brother what she couldn't give. She couldn't protect her brother from her family but no one can stop Loaren today because the senior brother he bought was not someone to be messed with. So the elders of the family let Loaren meet his sister.
June nervously walked towards Harry who was staring at them as if he has no expressions for his face to show. When she neared him Harry understood what she was going to say. "It is my pleasure to protect Loaren. So please don't thank me" he said in a cold tone that send a chill through June's spine. She didn't see that coming. 'Did he read my mind?' she wondered. Seeing the word 'confused' boldly written on her forehead "No, I can't read minds" Harry replied. That stopped her from saying anything further. Her mouth started to break the words and damage the sentences. She couldn't speak well. However, she managed everything, and at last, Loaren left for a mission after a weak with his senior brother Harry Lockwood.
After this incident, Loaren frequently visited her. Whenever he visited her he didn't fail to bring his senior brother with him. That gave her a chance to meet Harry frequently. June became very comfortable with Harry and started to talk to him. Even Loaren was amused to see how cheerful and childish his sister was only when Harry was around.
They became very close and Harry revealed some information about how to find him and his party members. The signal they use to communicate with the other members of the party. The nickname he was given at the party. The nickname of her brother. The name of his party and so on. Those things were the secrets maintained by the party that was not allowed to be spread but Harry revealed that information with the permission of their party leader because he predicted something horrible might happen and that happened after a few months. Many men from wealthy families send proposals to June for which she never even wanted to take a glance at them. The members and the elders of the family wanted her to be a scapegoat to enjoy the benefits they gain if she was married into any of those families. But she refused to do so. She didn't even consider the request of the elders to meet those men or accept to marry any of them. Whenever the elders of the family forced her to marry a person Loaren would appear out of nowhere and stop the engagement. Of course, Harry accompanied him. The strength Loaren had was out of the league for the common people because he gained from many killings and being killed multiple times. In other words, he has experienced hell and went through it to make him strong. His bow gave him the unique ability which no one had in the room.
Loaren can be defeated easily by the elders of the family but can't ensure the same for the person accompanying him. Harry looked like a devil in their eyes. Even if they ganged themselves and defeated Harry what can they do if the whole party arrived to avenge their member. What if a battle breakout between the noble families and the blue moon pavilion. They can't suffer such a loss. So no one dared to move a finger against Loaren.
