Capítulo 56: Spiritual Cognition
"He is indeed the mysterious ghost" muttered Wei Li looking at the couple starting at each other. A minute ago Wei Li could see that the mysterious ghost who was always seemed to be the silent member of the ghost party, who would mostly reply with only a nod, or only a word got annoyed and enraged by him for which Wei Li could not help but submit because he was aware that the strength speaks everything. Harry was not a person to easily get annoyed by Wei Li but his mysterious behavior confused everyone there. Because of Harry's mysterious nature, Wei Li gave up bickering and moved with an embarrassing smile.
By the look of his wife, he understood what she was yet to ask but before she could speak anything he nodded with a smile. He knows what his wife wants but never interfered with her likes and unlikes as he always let her know his opinion as a suggestion. He never restricted her in any way but when danger arise. He was a cold person who was only warm to June. He knew how she felt to be with Lin Cian but trusted her wholeheartedly. He knew that she wanted to take Lin Cian home and show him to her parents. She wants to show the newbie the place where she was born and the people who gave birth to her. She wanted to let him taste the delicacies of her hometown. He was happy for his wife because he knew what it was for June to find Lin Cian.
On the other hand, June was almost the same as him. She only smiled and was the other silent member of the ghost party. She always limited herself to a few words and almost answered with only a smile with no words. After getting comfortable with the members of the ghost party she used to be lively once in a while. She also had a deep love for Harry Lockwood for which she ended up here with him traveling around and adventuring. She wished to be loyal to him and she was. Even though both June and her husband seem to be silent they always talk to each other with stares, nods most importantly with their eyes.
When she saw Lin Cian she couldn't help but treat him because he looked almost the same as her late younger brother. June and her younger brother were very close but he was gone by accident so the once lively person turned to be a quiet one but when she saw Lin Cian her feelings lit up once again. But before taking action she chose to get the consent of her husband. Upon knowing her indention he agreed. He even agreed to stay and take care of Lin Cian in the Lassi village. June and Harry were very truthful with their feelings towards each other which made them trust each other and formed a strong bond in them.
"Are you sure about that?" June's angelic voice questioned her husband upon realizing that he predicted what she was going to ask. Harry just nodded with a smile while looking into her eyes. She could feel the concern he had for her. She retrieved her stare from him and checked the surroundings only to see that the others were not there. They both have already left the area which would give the couple some privacy. When she saw that no one was around she ran toward her husband and stood in front of him holding his hand and shaking it like a mischievous child. He smiled gently at her.
"Will you accompany me?" she asked him with the same angelic voice without changing a pitch. She could clearly see that the expression of her husband was changed in the blink of an eye. She did expect that. His face turned pale which almost made him look like he was in a severe trauma or something. She didn't accept that but she didn't question him further.
"June, I am sorry... I... I..." the pitch of his voice was too low as it looked like he was on the submission.
"Don't worry I don't want to go now" June interfered with him as her pitch followed his.
"I... I didn't mean that... you can..."
"I won't go without you" she made a nose cut with him as the pitch of her voice raised high. When Harry looked at her she was standing in front of him while her hands were crossed and she was looking somewhere. Her eyes showed that she was annoyed or confused but she couldn't help herself.
"But..."
"You are my husband. I won't go alone to my house" said June once again stopping him while forcing a smile on her face. Her breath became rapid and when she turned to leave Harry moved toward her and hugged her to comfort her for which she responded by resting her head on his chest. After a few minutes of the couple chatting, they came to the other members of the party. Everyone already has decided to move after Lin Cian gets up from his sleep.
-----Meanwhile-----
Lin Cian who was resting came to his senses. His fatigue was not over but he won't want to drag others because leaving the village quickly was the plan he suggested. The others accepted but he can't eat his words so he decided to wake up at any cost. When he opened his eyes and inspected his surroundings he saw William was sitting beside him on the ground while staring at the sky without stars. Once in a while, he made a sigh.
"Are you sad?" the interruption of a familiar voice made William get shocked and come to his senses. He turned his head towards the sound only to see Lin Cian was awake. He responded to Lin Cian with a smile.
Lin Cian is good at reading the emotions so it was a piece of cake for him to say that William was sad.
"It really is too much to bear in a short amount of time" Lin Cian comforted him. William and Lin Cian have spent nearly two years together so it was not a surprise for him that Lin Cian guessed it right away because he was used to it. William stared at him for a moment until Lin Cian made a slight frown on his face.
"What happened?" Asked William the expression on his face turned to be serious.
"Huh?..."
"Well... you know... it is not like you are scared of blood," he said to Lin Cian as his expression turned into a timid one as he was scratching his head.
Lin Cian made a huge breath and looked at William and started to explain everything about how he was confronted by the spiritual cognition of the dead ones killed by the dare wolves and the ancestors of the village and ended up slaughtering the whole pack of dare wolves.
The spirits asked Lin Cian for help when they found that Lin Cian can see them. They came together in a group as if the whole village was coming to him for his help. When he asked June to protect him he sat and crossed his legs but he spoke to the spiritual cognitions of the dead and the ancestors by his mental perception. The villagers or the spiritual cognitions told him that the spirits were powerful enough to protect and save the people but they want someone to summon and order them so that they can follow and do according to his orders and only Lin Cian was able to do that for the time being. So they decided to try Lin Cian.
When June was in trouble Lin Cian decided to help but the spirits asked him to let them prove their strength to Lin Cian so that he would believe in them. One of the elder spirits acted immediately when Lin Cian agreed and summoned a lightning spell over one of the people and at the last moment of his death the elder spirit possessed the body of the dead man and made him a puppet. Lin Cian saw the strength in them and ordered the elder spirit to kill the people who tried to harass June. And the elder spirit obeyed and killed the men.
Upon seeing the strength of the elder spirit he asked them to protect the villagers and one of the spirits asked him to kill William along with the dire wolves.
