Capítulo 20: Philip and ken
August walked into the room at that exact moment with a serious expression on his face.
"Sir, ma'am, there's a man outside with a little boy. He claims to be the one who brought little master back"
He said with a voice that seemed expressionless.
Alex was quite surprised by the current state of August. His voice just now was completely different from the warm and gentle voice he used to talk to him earlier.
Alex was quick to figure that this was probably his work form or attitude..so thick-skinned.
"Oh, he's here already? Go on, allows them in. Alex has already told me about his arrival" Emily answered in place of Henry, preventing the latter from saying a word.
Henry and Alex both looked at Emily with wide eyes. 'when in the seven hells did Alex(I) tell you that?' Was what both of them wanted to yell at her but no one dared to go first.
August simply turned around and Left, it didn't take long before he returned with the two guests whom Alex recognized as the driver from earlier while the boys he thought were probably his son who he talked about. Alex couldn't quite guess his age because of his baby face, but Alex concluded he must probably be the same age as himself.
The man walked slowly while the boy followed closely behind his father. The boy stopped just a few meters away from the area where the family of three that were now staring at them were sitting.
The driver's face might appear calm but he was already sweating inside from nervousness because of the people in front of him even though two were in a very 'special' position.
He wasn't nervous because they were intimidating him or something, even when they looked like your everyday family, he was nervous because of their reputation, he was currently standing before one of the big families in their country.
He just stood rooted in place with his son, not daring to move an inch, Alex already noticed his uneasiness and in turn looked at his dad, Henry.
He was hoping his dad wouldn't cause any discomfort for the driver who he didn't know his name of yet and his son.
Henry understood Alex's stare and cleared his throat.
"Ahem..., please, have a seat" he motioned to the father and son pair.
"T-thank you sir" the driver went over to the seat closest to him and sat quietly.
"No need for the formalities. You saved my son, my family is very grateful to you and consider you as a friend, we treat our friends well" Henry waved his hands and said with a smile before adding "so may I know the name of this humble sir and perhaps this little guy?"
Henry asked as his gaze drifted off to the little boy.
"My name is Phillip, Philip Kerfex and this is my son, Ken, Ken Philip. We..." Philip's words froze in his throat as his eyes landed on his son to introduce him, he just realized that his son was still standing by the door the whole time and he seemed to be in a daze.
Philip facepalmed at his son's foolish behavior, while Henry was amused by this, Alex on the other hand was still.....well, being squee... Ahem, sorry, was still being occupied by Emily who was still sticking to him like an octopus so he wasn't really paying attention to what was happening around him.
Ken who was still standing by the door didn't notice his dad go quiet all of a sudden. He was busy feeding his eyes with what was in the living room.
The white painted Walls, clean sparkling floors, expensive furniture, huge TV, and music amplifier, the room was whispering just one word into the teenager's brain 'expensive'.
Ken was so shocked by the view before him that he was almost drooling, that's because he had never seen such a room before, except in videos and books, he never thought the people they were visiting were this rich because his dad only told him they were going to see someone who would help them with something.
The outside of the building was already mind-blowing enough but this room just turned off the little boy's brain.
Another reason he was shocked was that his dad seemed to have some sort of connection with the yeaga family, no matter how he thought about it, he believed their lives would never be the same again.
Ken was brought back from his daze State by his father's voice that was calling out to him, he realized that he was being stared at by the two men in the room( he didn't consider Alex a man ), and was embarrassed because of the expression on their faces. He bowed in apology and quickly went to stand behind his dad.
"Cough.. cough, sorry about my son's undisciplined behavior, I assure you he didn't mean to disrespect you" Philip apologized awkwardly on behalf of his son.
"Not to worry, it's totally fine. I don't mind," Henry smiled and even winked at the little boy who was already red from embarrassment.
Moving his gaze back to Philip, he said calmly "So, how may I be of help to you? My son informed me earlier that you helped his return to the city and am very grateful for that,/so please, you can just ask for anything, as long as it's within my scope of power, I, the head of the yeaga family promise to make it come through "Henry said, not adding that Alex already informed him that the driver wanted to get admission for his son.
Philip looked at Alex but quickly turned his gaze away when his eyes met with Emily's, he was feeling awkward ' didn't his son tell him? seems I will just tell him myself then'
"Well...I know this might be an absurd request to ask for, but I really hope Mr. Henry might consider it" Philip said with a sheepish smile.
Henry looked at the huge mark that turned the latter's smile into something else but didn't react to it, it was as if he didn't notice it or wasn't bothered by it.
"You don't have to be so polite Mr. Philip, as I already said we treat friends well so whatever it is you can tell me, after all, we are both fathers, so we naturally have unsureness in these types of situations but rest assured, I will help out...if can" Henry smiled honestly that made Philip's tensed heart to calm down.
"Young lad, why don't you sit down too, your legs must be quite tired already," Henry said to Ken who was listening attentively to their conversation.
Ken looked at his father who in return just gave a slight nod of approval.
Ken sat quietly next to his father, not making a single sound to not disturb the conversation between the two people.
Philip was relieved that Henry was an easygoing person and not like the rest arrogant rich men who looked down on those below them.
"I was hoping that Mr. Henry would help my son get an admission into the light wings collage," Philip said with small sweat on his head.
