"You'll need to take the full week of antibiotics and avoid using any of your lion's abilities until the infection clears," Trevor handed Jake the bottle of pills and another bag. "You also need to have someone clean it and unwrap the dressings. No alcohol while you're on these. You have to treat your body like you're human."

"A fucking snake bites me, and I lose my lion," Jake sneered, holding back his anger. "Do you see what magic does?"

"He was protecting his mistress," I leaned against the doorframe, intending to walk Jake out of the hospital and to the road where his people would be waiting. "The fact his venom didn't kill you is more than anyone in my pack would've done. If you'd managed to attack her, you would've died."

"You all think too highly of that bitch," He muttered, looking at his wrapped leg. Trevor growled, his eyes darkening as his wolf surfaced. "I'm glad you saw sense and decided to get a divorce. It's the best thing."
