"I don't understand —" she blinked her eyes countlessly at him— "you still want me here!?"
"Of course." Rochester leapt over to a chair and sat on it. "The only thing I need you to explain right now is why you accepted to become a cleaner knowing full well you're carrying my baby."

She spent a great deal of time digesting what he'd just muttered from his mouth. She did not know how to react immediately to what he'd just said, so she stood in her place. Static, and unyielding. She remained that way as she tried to fathom what he'd possibly meant by that. Not finding a clear explanation for his talk, she decided to hear from the horse directly.
She swallowed first. "D-did you not say that mother was here a while?"
"I did say —" Rochester nodded in his seat — "but I would prefer you do not answer my question by asking one yourself." A scowl masked up his face then. "When were you planning on telling me?"
