On her way home from work, Shu Pan went to a 24-hour pharmacy and bought a few pregnancy test kits.

Gu Shaoting sent her a text in the afternoon informing her that he would be away on a business trip for two days, so she could take the test at home and not face him.

After worrying the whole way home, Shu Pan felt like she had run out of energy when she arrived home.

She changed into slippers at the foyer before she walked into the living room, put her bag down and sat on the sofa to take a breather.
