Capítulo 13: 013. Fixing the Illegitimate Daughter

Qiao Xu bluntly said these words, making it very clear that she would never recognize Qiao Sheng's illegitimate daughter, Su Rou.

Su Rou's face turned pale, and she skillfully gathered tears in her eyes, playing the victim.

Neither Qiao Sheng nor Su Rou deserved any face from her.

"A member of the Qiao family? Isn't her last name Su? President Qiao, while you have the ability to force me to recognize this illegitimate daughter, how come you don't have the courage to go home and ask grandpa to write her name into the Qiao family genealogy? My recognition means nothing, if our ancestors recognize her, that counts."

"Qiao Xu, you… you're going too far. I am your father, and you have no right to speak to me in this way!"

Even though Qiao Xu's statement was true, Qiao Sheng couldn't help but feel angry and ashamed by her sharp words.

Xiao Rou was his favorite daughter. Unlike Qiao Xu, she didn't constantly challenge him and was content with her role as a daughter.

Even when he never granted her any status, she never complained and even comforted him.

All he wanted now was to give her a proper status; was that so wrong? Why did he have to bring up the old man?

It was because the old man would never agree that he wanted to start with Qiao Xu. But he never expected that his stubborn daughter wouldn't even give him this bit of face.

"It's a good thing you remember that you're my father. Since you do, then act like one, and don't disgrace yourself by flaunting your illegitimate daughter. If you want to become a laughing stock in high society, at least don't drag me into it."

"Qiao Xu, you..."

Qiao Sheng's face turned red with rage at Qiao Xu's words, unable to utter a single word, just tremblingly pointing his finger at her.

When Su Rou, who had been sitting quietly with a wronged expression, saw it was time to act, she stood up and pulled Qiao Sheng back into his seat, softly comforting him,

Seeing Su Rou so understanding, Qiao Sheng's heart filled with both guilt and tenderness.

"Don't worry, there's no father-daughter relationship between President Qiao and me, so that means you can't ruin anything," Qiao Xu interjected sarcastically, her cold gaze stopping the father and daughter from acting in front of her.

Lu Moqing hadn't planned to get involved in Qiao Xu's affairs but came along on a whim and found himself witnessing this battle between father and daughter.

He had long heard that Qiao Sheng had a mistress and an illegitimate daughter, but he had no idea that the illegitimate daughter would turn out to be Su Rou.

Seeing Qiao Xu's cold and aggressive demeanor, he suddenly laughed. This was the real Qiao Xu, wasn't it?
