Kairos remained silent for a long while. Hearing so much praise coming from Nicole made it feel as though she were talking about someone else, despite the fact she made it very clear it was him.

Nicole continued on.

"Don't you remember who's responsible for the fact I'm even alive right now? The one that helped others too. Of course... we weren't able to save everyone, but asking for that from anyone is far too much."

Kairos responded with a whisper, as though he didn't actually want her to hear.

"But I only did that because... I didn't want you to leave me. It wasn't because I was actually a good person."

Nicole couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

"Ah, this may be a bit of a newsflash, but it was the same with me. Why do you think I always came to you? Just knowing that you're next to me helps me calm down. I was always the same way."
