Capítulo 10: Test Results
I sat alone in the hallway for five minutes, the classroom door opened once more, I was expecting to see Shikamaru, but instead it was one of the assistants, behind him there was a civilian child, looking down and sobbing, someone was caught cheating, not long after, the door opened once again, this time Shikamaru did come out of the classroom.
"How bothersome" he said, "now I have to wait here until the rest of them finish, instead of going home" added.
"Is your fault for finishing this early, at least you didn't have to wait alone for ten minutes" I joked.
"To be honest, I wasn't expecting someone to finish before me, let me introduce myself, Shikamaru Nara" he offered his hand for a shake.
"Kenji Yūhi" I shook his hand, "oh! You are from the Nara Clan, that explains why you weren't expecting someone smarter than you, I heard your Clan has the smartest people in the village" I teased him.
Shikamaru sat next to me, and remained quiet for the remaining time, little by little, the children taking the test were coming out of the classroom one by one, the Rookie nine, except for Naruto and Kiba were already on the hallway, chatting among each other, Choji joined me and Shikamaru, Shino was in a corner near Hinata but neither of them were talking, Ino and Sakura were gossiping, Saske was talking to some civilian kids, and finally Naruto and Kiba were dragged out of the classroom by some assistants, when the time was over.
Naruto sat next to me, and was grumbling about the test being hard, Shikamaru and I just laughed at that, making Naruto angrier, he refused to talk to me until I apologized after ten minutes trying to cheer him up, the civilian children refused to near my tiny group due to Naruto's presence, while the Rookie nine just didn't care unless Naruto approached them.
Everyone was growing restless waiting for the result, half an hour passed since Naruto and Kiba were dragged out, along the hallway, there were other groups of children reunited next to the entrances of their classrooms, suddenly all the doors from the classrooms opened at the same time, each of the proctors had a paper the size of half the notice board, they were surrounded by their assistants, so no one could see until they finished taping it, they moved aside and made their way towards the administrative area of the Academy.
My name was top of the list, followed by Shikamaru, Ino, Sakura and Saske, almost at the bottom but still on the approved margin were Naruto and Kiba with the same score, the rest of the Rookie nine were somewhere in the middle, some of us cheered, other children cried, and others just left in defeat.

"I can't say I was expecting that, but I can't say I was hoping the System to brainwash people to idolatrizing me" I thought, Naruto just saw his result and is currently crying of happiness, shouting to the four winds how is he going to become a strong ninja and the next Hokage, I decided to leave the area, looking for my mom, and tell her the new, but I was intercepted at the Main Hall of the Academy.
"Kenji Yūhi, will you please come with me? Your mother is already at the Hokage office" Mizuki, the proctor of my test said, without waiting for my answer she turned around and walked towards the office, I felt a knot on the throat, maybe she did figure how I cheated during the test, but that doesn't make sense, the System said I completed the mission successfully, why am I being taken to the Hokage Office?
"Lord Third I've brought Kenji Yūhi, just like you instructed me" She bowed to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, and the biggest fool of all Naruto, he preached empathy and concern about the Village, but allowed Danzo to create Root, kidnap children and even let him get away with a few assassination attempts against him, and the list of his mistakes can only grow.
"You're dismissed Mizuki, I'm grateful for your hard work" The Third said to Mizuki, she bowed once again, and closed the door behind, my mom was sitting in front of the Third with her big and warm smile, she seemed to be expecting good news from this reunion, I was worried about my abilities being leaked to the Third and Danzo by association, if that man wanted me, no one will be able to stop him except the Third, but he won't move a finger because the idiot still believes Danzo just wants the best for the Village.
"You may be wondering why I brought you here, there is nothing to be afraid, I was told you aced the Academy Entrance Test, not a single mistake was made, something only you managed to make, not even Shikamaru Nara was capable of such a thing, normally that would mean, we'll invest more resources for you" he made a brief pause, letting me and my mom catch up to his words "But in your case, your aunt, Kurenai Yūhi, left a recommendation letter, for you to be put in a class with older kids, I know her enough to know she isn't playing favorites, so I'll give you a chance, but only if you pass a tiny test of mine" the more the Third talked, the more my mom would smile, pride is a big emotion, specially when they talk about your kids it seems.
"I accept" I replied to the Third, without breaking eye contact with me, he changed his smile for a serious face, my surroundings changed immediately, three Anbus appeared out of nowhere, one was holding me, while the others, unsheathed their blades, they moved fast, I was barely able to see their moves, when they came to a stop, one pierced my mother heart and the other behaved her.
I could see the surprise on the Third's face, I didn't cry, I wasn't consumed by anger, I wasn't even in shock, it wouldn't matter what he showed me, I was able to see through it, this was only a Genjutsu, a weak one on top, he put me in a Genjutsu in a second, and I was able to dissipate it even faster, thanks to the Iron Will.
"You really are a genius, just like your aunt said" the Third said, he took some papers from his desk, put a stamp on it and handed it to my mother, "Madam Yūhi, Kenji, let me apologize for my actions, even if you were capable of seeing through my Genjutsu" my mother panicked a bit "it was still wrong for me to do it, is not an excuse, but Kurenai was the one that suggested me to do that, she asked me to tell you it was your final test before learning her techniques" the Third bowed his head slightly to show regret, but not for too long nor too low to maintain the dignity of his position.
"Lord Third, I thank you for the faith you put in my Kenji, I can only hope you keep supporting him" she said bowing to the Third, he smoked a bit, and nodded with a smile, the door behind us opened, and Mizuki, was waiting for us to leave the Office, mom grabbed my hand, and we made our way towards home.
