Cubecraft

It was January, it was still cold and spring isn't coming yet. The North in which the Marchen family resides is still ridden with snow as it was in December.

Leonard walked through the corridor as he peeked towards the slightly opened door, he could hear a teacher with his strict words teaching the kids he found both in the orphanage and the underground city.

They were children with nowhere to go and Leonard asked his father to shelter them. Well, Richard wasn't entirely against it, after all, if they could nurture these talents it would just increase the prestige of the Marchen name.

When Leonard was done peeking he went back to the main house as the children were residing in the annex. Right, he could remember that those children were in an inhospitable environment. But right now these shelters provided warmth that could pass through winter.

Thinking that he's done a great deed didn't entirely place a smile on his face. However, it did make him feel a lot of contentment.

As he arrived in the main house he was greeted by servants, which helped him take off his coat.

"Young master, The young lady Lorraine is waiting for you."

A servant said with decorum.

"Hm? Why?"

"Well… for that, she didn't tell us."

Leonard raised a brow but he didn't continue to question it, after all, the servant is just the messenger. He walked along the long corridor of his home before arriving in his room.

Opening his room he came to a not-so-pleasant surprise.

"Sister, I remember barring you from entering here."

"Aww cmon Leo! Lori would be alone."

"Brother!"

Lorraine ran up towards Leonard, he received such a blessing in the guise of a hug. After that, he looked at Lenneza with a smile.

"So, Sister?"

"Don't look at me like I always feel naked when that kind of gaze of yours looks at me."

With those carefree words Leonard only sighed, he walked towards his computer and opened it.

"Wow, your PC doesn't have a password on it?"

"Oh, it actually does."

"Huh…? But…password keys are the first screen to appear—"

Lenneza choked on her words, she looked at Leonard who was busy typing down on his PC.

"Sister. This is an early Macrohard PC; it doesn't have passwords."

Lenneza was quite reckless, today's version of PC doesn't have the passwords appear first after booting it up. It's supposed to be the icon of the user before the password.

Lenneza's heart skipped a beat, her words were so sure, it was so full of confidence. The familiarity of her words would catch everyone off guard. Who wasn't aware of the PC.

"..."

She wanted to check Leonard's face, she wanted to see what kind of expression he was having, and her anxiety of being discovered was making her hands tremble.

But luckily she kept herself away from Leonard's vision, or else he would be more suspicious of Lenneza than he already is.

Fortunately, for Lenneza, Leonard prioritized Lorraine first. However, To Lenneza's relief, Leonard was done probing her.

***

In a territory in the south, a family of five lives, it would have been six if the child born in wedlock was included. A girl with jet black hair and crimson red eyes sat by the window, reminiscing about something.

"It's today… hmmm… I hope I don't smell that bad."

Her cheeks tinted vermilion at the thought of meeting him again. The actual Knight that saved her in darkness, one that didn't need any recognition.

She was so blinded by the Knight who shone, that she was blinded and unable to see others. But blaming that all to herself is giving her all the credit, half of the blame is given to the one responsible for such fate, the Overlord.

Although they wished for him to be damaged because if they killed him this reality would cease to exist. But the fact that this world still exists for her to meet him once again, she could never be thankful enough.

—bam!

The door slammed open and a boy in his teenage years came in. His brows were knit and his smile was ear to ear although he didn't seem so happy. His entrance was very rude in all his remarks.

"What… you're happy you got a chance to meet him?" The boy sharply said.

"Obviously, that's because he's my fiance."

"Haha! Not yet you aren't! And what made you think dirty blood like you would ever be engaged to that bastard?"

The girl glared at him, clearly not pleased by those words. If she could bash this boy's head down the ground as she did back then she would feel better.

The boy swiped back his luscious pink hair and glared at the girls with the same crimson red eyes.

"What? You think I'm going to let you have a good impression in front of him?"

"Why are you particularly difficult today?"

She just sighed, looking at the boy with a disappointed, disgusted, and annoyed look. Making the boy feel angrier at the sight of this girl.

"Yula… I wonder what your fiance would think if his fiancee was being rude?"

"Whatever do you mean, Cassius?"

The boy then closed the doors shut, Yula just looked at the feeble attempt Cassius to lock her in like an idiot. She smirked and let out a cute chuckle.

"What is this idiot thinking, locking me here?"

She then opened her windows, some bars prevented people from going out however, Yula was a 10-year-old child, and those measly bars aren't narrow enough to stop her from squeezing herself out.

"Do I have to ask Lenneza to give me a chance to build my Business Empire there? I hope she does ~"

Yula's room, however, was on the third floor, all the trees near her window were cut down as well, fully preventing her chances of escape.

But one thing they didn't account for is that Yula would have a solution for that. As she elegantly slid down using the air as her medium.

"Martial arts is great."

What she used was a basic martial art taught in any clan out there, the 32 steps of swiftness. She learned this art after reading Leonard's diary, well he didn't directly place the martial art in the diary, rather he described how to learn it from someone else.

Yula only learned this martial art as preparation for Walters, death, and then killing the Demon Lord.

"I'm coming, Hahaha~"

Yula had a hearty laugh as she went towards a car that was prepared in front of the mansion. The thought of Cassius still locking her out the door on the third floor made her chuckle.

***

"Hey, Sister. What do you think of this game I coded?"

Leonard showed the piece of work he placed his blood and sweat on, a game filled with cubes, and an endless sandbox game he named Cubecraft.

"What… What's the point of this game?"

Lenneza was slightly confused, Leonard understands though after all this year is equivalent to the early 2000s so Minecraft is a rather new concept.

"It's a sandbox world where you can go wild."

"What do you mean?" Lenneza tilted her head, clearly curious.

"Okay, imagine this Lenneza, a world where you can build structures and automated stuff, a full mechanism with monsters, and a fun experience with two differing game modes.

It's basically an endless place where you can do whatever you want. Okay, Lori, show me what you created."

Lorraine, who was playing on Leonard's computer, looked at them with a bothered look, she was so invested in the game that she just realized that she was not originally alone.

"Here!"

The screen in a monitor moved towards a house, one would think that it would be made of diamond blocks since everyone has done it once right? Wrong, Lorraine showed her compassion for the craft by building a 2 story house made of wood, completely designed as of 2018 youtube Minecraft master builder.

The house that Lorraine made had Leonard and Lenneza gaping their jaws at the magnificent sight but for different reasons. Leonard was shocked that Lorraine was on par with the same standards as his previous life, and Lenneza was too shocked because of how simple yet innovative the game Leonard just made.

The game was filled with cubes, how come that something like the house Lorraine made is so… beautiful? And it was such a good piece Lenneza wanted to explore more of the house.

"Is the game you made… just experimental?"

"Yeah, It'll take a while before the actual game is released but I plan to add multiplayer before I do release it."

When multiplayer was heard by Lenneza several gears were running through her head, the possibility of this game being a worldwide sensation was already something she concluded and gave an ending.

"Sister, I could read your face."

"Oh-oh, how mannerless—"

"Are you really thinking of manners in front of us?"

"Ugh… Right."

Lenneza scratched her cheek before looking at Lorraine who was lovely as she was playing, Leonard was being asked if there are blocks that could match Lorraine's description from time to time.

Now Lorraine built a fountain. Leonard was shocked once again, Simple yet it looks so good for the eye!

When Lorraine asked for blocks or mobs that didn't exist in the game he wrote it down in an already existing app on the monitor.

A few hours later Lenneza and Leonard talked about a few different topics, like how Leonard thought of such a game and how he is planning to create a social media platform as well.

When they were done talking they looked at Lorraine who was playing a beta version of cubecraft in survival and she already managed to build a village all on her own.

"It'd be g-great if there is someone to live in those…"

"oh don't worry Lorraine I plan to add villagers, and it's still not finished anyways so wait for a few more weeks okay?"

When she heard those words Lorraine's cute face lit up the whole room so that Lenneza couldn't even look at her directly.

"Okay, okay. Lenneza, go ask Father for an extra PC, the game is much more fun with more people playing it."

Lenneza nodded and she talked with Leonard about how a laptop would be more contingent before leaving the room. When Leonard and Lorraine were left in the room he watched as Lorraine tried to do a few mechanics as she played with the survival mode.

The original Minecraft had two dimensions, the nether, and the end. Leonard saw the difficulties of those two dimensions and decided to make them harder. Two boss fights to roam freely in the dimensions.

But before she could lose himself in ideas and imagination the door in his room received a knock, it was too early for Lenneza to be back so who could it be?

"Young Master, Your fiance candidate has arrived."

"Already…?"

He sighed and patted Lorraine's head.

"I'll be back, okay?"

"un…"

Leonard then left the room, Leonard tasked the servant who gave him the news to watch over Lorraine since she'll be alone in his room.

Then after that, he went to the location his supposed fiance should be waiting. The reception room.

Once he opened the door, there she was. Sitting on the couch sipping tea. Jet Black hair and crimson red eyes, the simple image of this cute girl would make anyone fall for her, but for Leonard, it was a different story.
