Summary: After struggling to control the thousands of instincts that come along with just as many animal personas vying for dominance within his mind, Beast Boy decides to take up Meditation and Raven decides to help.

Both Beast Boy and Raven learn several different things about themselves in the process.

And then they fuck... like... a lot...

BOOM!!

Crash!!

Ugh….

Garfield "Gar" Logan, AKA Beast Boy, slowly and painfully pulled himself out of the two meter deep depression that his back had just created in one of Jump City's sidewalks. Well, to be fair, he hadn't been the momentum that caused the city's newest impact crater, but rather his teammate Starfire had. She'd been hit from close range by a powerful explosion while flying through the air, and the blast had launched her towards the ground at extremely high speeds. Thankfully, Beast Boy had been in the general area and he'd played his part exactly as he was expected to. He'd instantly transformed into an absolutely enormous variety of prehistoric bear called Arctotherium Angustidens, leapt in front of the human shaped meteor and then softened her landing by sacrificing at least one of his ribs. At this point, the Tamaranian teenager was curled up in his lap as if she was just waking up from a doze and she looked visibly reluctant to rejoin the fight.

Normally Gar would relish any opportunity to "bear hug" the exotic and curvy knockout that was currently snuggling against his waist, but this time the circumstances had definitely been pretty violent and uncomfortable. Why had he used himself as a crash mat when Starfire was superhumanly durable and less likely to take any real damage than he was?

Simple… Starfire was Garfield's friend, and she was a lady…

Granted it's a pretty messed up moment of gallantry when you defend a woman who's quite a bit stronger than you, but Garfield wasn't the type to split hairs.

Unfortunately, there was another less altruistic reason for his actions that Beast Boy chafed under quite a bit. Starfire was regarded as a higher level of force offensively speaking than Beast Boy was, which is why their fearless leader Robin expected him to be the one to get his bell rung if it meant that she could stay in the fight.

On the surface, the reason for Robin's so-called expectation was simple. Starfire could fly, punch holes into buildings, and shoot out collected ultraviolet radiation from her hands in the form of star-volts. It was all pretty powerful stuff and Starfire was without a doubt a badass... Too bad for Beast Boy, he was all but certain that Robin was just demanding preferential treatment for the orange-tinted super-heroine, AKA his brand new girlfriend, and that favoritism was the real driving force behind his policy making. Thankfully, the fact that Gar was being ordered to sacrifice his body for Starfire was inconsequential. He'd have done it anyway, and that fact did a lot for Beast Boy's peace of mind.

With just the trace of a wince Beast Boy transformed back into his human form and then pulled a visibly smoking and mussed up Starfire back up to her feet. As the dust thrown up by their crash landing cleared, he smoothed out Star's disheveled orangey-red hair and scrutinized the girl with all of his heightened senses. All around them, the other three Teen Titans continued to fight it out with Gizmo, but Gar wouldn't move on until he knew how his teammate was holding up. "You okay there Star?!"

Starfire wobbled just a little bit and planted her hands on Gar's shoulders as she shook out the cobwebs in her head. "Yes thank you Beast Boy. I am full of the gratitude right now for your catching of me."

Gar very carefully didn't say anything sarcastic about being flattened into a crater rather than catching the woman... He might have made a smart ass comment if it were anyone else, but Gar knew that Starfire really was being completely serious at the moment. The Tamaranian refugee was ill at ease with lying or faking in any way, so Gar just smiled and nodded his head before adopting a far more serious expression. "Look Starfire… Gizmo's a ridiculous little narcissist, but he's not an idiot. He's not going to fall for you just flying in from behind him like that."

Starfire nodded her head in almost instant agreement, but then she canted her head to the side. "I agree with you Beast Boy but that is the plan outlined by our Leader. I would welcome the other options if you have them."

Gar nodded his head thoughtfully and then pointed at a subway entrance. "You could always try to approach from below. It doesn't look like Gizmo's shields extend beneath his body."

"How would I keep the track of the Gizmo's location though?" Starfire looked thoughtful rather than dismissive.

"Look for my GPS location using your wrist unit," Gar suggested with a mischievous smile growing clear across his face. "I'll position myself five meters south of him and then I'll hold my ground. That way, when you see that I've stopped moving around for fifteen seconds in a row, you can aim your star-volts five meters to the north of me and blast away."

Starfire grinned and bobbed her head eagerly at Gar's idea making him want to blush. A feeling that only grew stronger as her hands slowly slid off of his shoulders, down his chest and across his abs to squeeze his waist affectionately. Very, very suddenly Gar found himself having to pinch the flesh of both of his palms to maintain control of his rampaging libido...

Ugh...

Gar was constantly surprised by just how inappropriate his sex drive was these days and it was especially obvious during odd times like this. Getting all lusty during a super-powered fight for survival right in the middle of downtown Go City was not what he would call ideal timing. Nevertheless, here he was resisting a sudden and extremely intense desire to hump the smiling, Tamaranian girl's leg like an animal in heat. He wrestled down the intrusive feeling like he does most of the other instinctual reactions his body foists upon him every single day. His current desire was both inappropriate and wrong considering both the timing and the inconvenient little fact that Starfire was newly in a relationship with Robin… Granted Starfire was frequently a little… (a lot) affectionate with him, but her actions weren't necessarily a sign of great attraction. Instead, Garfield was all but certain that the way she fawned over her closest friends (him and Raven) was just another Tamaranian affectation similar to her accent or the way that she orders words. What that meant was that Starfire liked him very, very much as her friend, and she wasn't afraid to show it…

Knowing all of that didn't change the fact that Starfire drove Garfield nearly to distraction with her roaming hands and casual intimacy. It also didn't change the fact that his discomfort was his own damned fault. He was the one with no self-control here, not Starfire....

All of the sudden, there was a change in the air, the hairs on Gar's neck all stood on end and gooseflesh prickled on his arms. For a change, he didn't resist his instincts at all, but instead he embraced the adrenaline that he was receiving as his body began to react. He rapidly transformed into an unbelievably large and extinct ape variety, grabbed Starfire by the arm, pivoted on the spot and then bodily threw her towards the distant subway entrance with all of his might. With that accomplished he just barely had time to transform into a kangaroo, leap high into the air and then transform into a pterodactyl to hopefully gain even further distance.

BOOOM!!!

An intense and fiery explosion once again cratered the sidewalk where Garfield and Starfire had been standing and the concussive force of it sent Beast Boy wheeling through the air like a rag doll. Even as Gar crashed through a clothing store window, transformed back into his human form and painfully rolled down the central aisle, he stayed on the lookout for Starfire. First of all, he needed to know if she was safe. After that he needed to know if she was going to follow the plan. A second later, he began grinning from his spot sprawled out on a clothing rack, because he finally saw a flash of purple and orange drop down the subway station entrance. He began grinning despite the fact that he knew he was going to catch Hell for his most recent sloppiness later...

The fact of the matter was that Gar was already a hundred percent certain he was going to be told off by Robin immediately after their fight with Gizmo ended. It was a bush league mistake to lose track of the enemy, and Gar didn't have an excuse worth using. Gizmo was just a B character villain, and yet he'd almost taken them out while they were distracted. Of course Starfire had just taken an explosive to the face and that might explain why she was a little off her game, but he didn't have the same excuse. Gar needed to get control of the many different instincts that come along with his various inner animals (and there were a lot of them). He had to become more disciplined if he was going to survive to old age as a hero. He couldn't continue losing his focus because of the menagerie of beasts that he had residing inside his head.

Gar transformed into a jaguar and loped out of the shop's broken windows while on the lookout for Gizmo. The supervillain wasn't hard to find. The little man was managing to fend off Robin, Raven and Cyborg's attacks with an energy field of some kind while a flock of miniature weapon platforms floated all around him shooting out various lasers and bombs. It was an impressive arrangement that had Beast Boy all but certain it was someone else's idea. Gar dropped his speculation for the moment because he had a far more pressing concern. He needed to get himself five meters south of Gizmo, and he needed to get there ASAP.

As Gar dashed towards where he needed to be in relation to Gizmo, he realized the main problem with staying a fixed distance away from someone. It was suspicious. Why was he just maintaining a set distance away from the man/boy? How could he justify just standing around for the length of time Star might need? To make the situation less noticeable Gar transformed back into the large ape variety and began collecting various scraps and objects from around the roadside. By the time Gar jumped out from behind a van and found himself five meters south of Gizmo Gar had a rather large stockpile of cinderblocks, tires and sewer grates that he began throwing at Gizmo with all of his might. He wasn't even trying to get through the evil genius's shields but instead he was trying to hit the man's drone weaponry. Over the next ten seconds Gar knocked one laser and one bomb launching drone out of the air with sewer grates thrown as if they were frisbees.

Even as his plan was working out just fine, Gar saw the weird looks that he was getting from Robin, Cyborg and Raven, and he understood exactly why. Under normal circumstances Garfield was not a long distance fighter. Hell... He could transform into a T-Rex! He could completely disregard the laws of physics regarding the conservation of mass and body slam himself into Gizmo. That's the reason why, even as Gar understood his team's confusion, he wished that he wasn't being pigeonholed into one role so thoroughly. Beast Boy had already tried the whole body slam plan and Gizmo's shields had knocked him away like a fly. Now was definitely the time to think outside the box. With that thought in mind, Garfield just carefully ignored Robin when he started yelling at him from across the street.

What are you doing Beast Boy?! Charge him with a larger form! Robin dropped in next to Beast Boy using his grappling hook and regarded him with a frustrated look on his face. Beast Boy! We need a distraction and we need it now!

Beast Boy grit his teeth and just continued to throw the large, heavy objects that he'd stockpiled. It sucked having to ignore a direct order, but he only needed three or four more seconds for the plan to go into effect. Starfire was probably zeroing I'm on Gizmo using his location even now, so he just needed to hold out for a little while longer. Besides... the way Robin had said the word "distraction" just now had annoyed him. Gar knew that he actually was acting as a distraction right now but that didn't make Robin's demand that he become one any less annoying. Was he destined to be the big, flashy but ultimately ineffective distraction for the rest of his superhero career?

Thankfully, Gizmo chose that moment to centre three lasers directly on Garfield's chest, and he was suddenly far too busy blocking them with the detached hood of a car to respond. He wasn't too busy however to notice when Robin shook his head in frustration and grapple-hooked himself away.

Gizmo appeared to be enjoying the fact that he had a stationary target because he continued to pour on the laser fire and Beast Boy's car hood started becoming red-hot. As he leaned into the concussive force of the villain's weapons, he felt the fur on his arms beginning to burn and his skin getting scorched. Too bad he couldn't move or he'd be ruining the plan. "Come on Star, you've got this," Beast Boy whispered with his teeth tightly clenched through the pain.

Gizmo was bringing more and more laser fire to bear on the annoying green stooge who was huddling behind that car hood. A wide perverse smile was forming on his face as he watched the metal warp and turn a cherry red beneath his collected laser fire. "That's right," he cackled in a high pitched and wild tone of voice. "Burn!!"

But that's when it happened…

With a deafening cracking crashing sound, the ground beneath Gizmo's feet erupted like a volcano and twin streams of pure plasma-fire smashed into him at almost Mach speed. Although Gizmo's super-suit protected him from the impact of the plasma blasts, the energy delivered almost immediately burnt out all of his shield generators. Without his shields to keep him safe and stable, Gizmo was instantly launched into the air by the force of the exploding rock below him.

Beast Boy had been waiting for this moment to arrive and he didn't hesitate for even a split second. When Gizmo's shields failed, Gar immediately dropped the car hood, transformed into a jaguar, and dashed towards the villain with all his might. In just a split second, Garfield was running towards Gizmo at sports car speeds and preparing to transform again with picture perfect timing. By the time he smashed into the still airborne and ragdolling supervillain, Beast Boy had transformed into two-and-a-half tons of thickly armored rhino flesh.

Boom!!

Gizmo's crumpled body flew through the air like a cannon shot, until, with a second titanic impact, he hit the side of a concrete embankment.

Boom!!

In the moments that followed, Beast Boy ran up to the dust cloud that Gizmo's collision with the wall had created, transformed back into human form and took a defensive posture. Starfire quickly dropped to the ground at his side followed closely by Cyborg, Raven and finally Robin. They all stared at the cloud of dust because Gizmo might have another trick up his sleeve…

Finally, after about twenty seconds passed, the dust and debris finished settling to reveal what was lying within. Gizmo's unconscious and drooling form was firmly nestled in his own human shaped crater exactly like in a cartoon…

At any other time Garfield might have laughed, hooted and hollered over the win, but his arms were still pretty burned and the pain of it was cramping his style. Instead, he fist bumped Starfire, grinned at everyone else, turned in place, and started walking towards the T-car. He needed to get some of the first aid equipment from the vehicle, and the sooner he got to it the better.

"Where do you think you're going?!"

Gar stiffened at Robin's tone, slowly turned back towards the boy, and lifted his clearly messed up arms. "I'm going to go clean and dress these burns…"

"Burns that you wouldn't even have if you'd just followed orders for once," Robin pointed out with a noticeably smug look upon his face.

Gar's first instinct was to argue with Robin, but in the end he decided not to. During his early years, he'd had very few role models that were worth having, but he did remember one very useful piece of advice. Never interrupt an adversary when they're making a mistake... While Beast Boy didn't normally think of Robin as an adversary, right now at least, the boy wonder was pissing him right the Hell off. Beast Boy had no intention of explaining why he just disobeyed Robin's orders because doing so would actually help him look like less of an asshole. At the moment, everyone was staring at Robin like he had two heads, which just proved that the boy's over the top condescension was hurting his image far more than anything Gar could say. For that reason, and in a moment of extreme weakness, Beast Boy didn't say a single word. Instead, he just shrugged his shoulders, turned away again, and began walking towards the T car.

A little less than a minute later as he was approaching the T-car, a shadow caught up with Gar, and he didn't need to look up to know who it was. Quiet wasn't Starfire's style, which meant the person floating a foot from his left shoulder could only be Raven. He turned towards the broody but extremely kind, hooded woman, and gave her a soft smile in greeting. On the other hand, he decided to stay quiet this time. Raven definitely wasn't the chatty type, and he didn't want to make her regret showing him some solidarity.

And that was the moment when their normal, daily interactions, got completely flipped on their ass…

Raven turned to regard Beast Boy, floating sideways so that she wouldn't fall behind, and then, for the very first time ever, she initiated a conversation... "Starfire just explained... angrily... that you were following a plan… a plan that worked."

Garfield wasn't able to prevent the look of unadulterated shock that ended up growing across his face. While he really did consider Raven to be one of his closest friends, she was definitely the type to give you quiet companionship rather than any sort of idle chit chat. Raven speaking to him unprompted was a major upset and one that almost had him doubting his ears. "Uhh well, yeah... I know I should've explained the situation to Robin myself, but I…" Gar shrugged in defeat and looked at the T-car in the distance. He didn't think Raven was a very good sound-board for complicated biology or emotional instability. Oh she had her emotions under control alright… it was just… Raven controls her emotions to such an extent it's literally out of this world (like in another dimension or something).

"You're not a pawn piece or a robot Beast Boy… you are allowed to have a will of your own…"

Gar turned towards Raven again and Gods help him he wanted to hug the woman. In her own super reserved way, she was being sooooo cute right now. When Gar managed to catch a glimpse of her skin tone however he immediately decided to keep his enthusiasm under control. Judging by the pink color that he could just barely make out in those shadowy depths, Raven was pushing herself far, far beyond her comfort zone, and was ready to run away at the slightest provocation… Instead, Gar took a deep, calming breath and then smiled at the blushing hooded girl. "Thank you Raven. That means a lot to me…"

Raven only nodded her head this time which also managed to drop her hood further over her face.

Beast Boy and Raven reached the T-car soon after, where Gar started patching himself up with Cyborg's patented first aid Nano sprays and wraps. They weren't miraculous per se, but they were pretty amazing and Garfield would be mostly healed by the following morning.

Soon after, Cyborg approached, carrying Gizmo's trussed up and still unconscious body. Of course, he sarcastically muttered about being a beast of burden, but both Gar and Raven could see that he was just joking. Case and point, after Cyborg stowed the villain's body in the back of the car for drop off at Go City's supermax super-power-adapted Prison, he pulled out three cans of coke from the T-car's mini fridge (not standard) and cheerfully handed them to Raven and Gar. As they all opened their cans of coke, Cyborg leaned against the car next to Beast Boy and then finally turned his head to look at the teen. "You know Gar... that was a pretty cool plan…"

Beast Boy nodded his head because yeah he'd thought so.

With a small indrawn breath, Cyborg put down his drink and put a hand on Garfield's shoulder. "What I want to know is this… When Robin was standing right next to you during the battle, why didn't you explain what you were doing?"

Gar winced even though he had a decent excuse readily available. "I was an ape at the time, Cyborg. I didn't have human vocal cords.

At first, Cyborg merely nodded his head, but then he started looking unconvinced almost immediately after. He knew Garfield Logan pretty well, and he could tell what this was all about. "Look Gar… I appreciate the fact that you're bossed around a lot by Robin. I can understand that today you got a bit of revenge…" Cyborg pointed down the street to where Robin and Starfire were having a visibly heated conversation. "Allowing that fight to happen however… is not going to help your situation with our fearless leader."

Beast Boy nodded his head and looked down at his feet as he thought of a response. Then he opened his mouth, closed it and shrugged again. "I'm… I'm a mess dude. I've been all over the map lately when it comes to my emotions and the over the top way I'm reacting to problems. I know I should've made peace with Robin just now but there's an alpha predator somewhere in my psyche that screamed at me not too. I need better control. I need to control my body, my instincts, my emotions and maybe even my… hormones. My inner animal personas are on a rampage lately and they're affecting my self-discipline. It's all been completely out of whack ever since Terra turned traitor…" Gar looked down at his feet and sighed. "It feels like I can't trust my feelings anymore."

Cyborg frowned his understanding because he knew. He knew that Beast Boy had been devastated by their former teammate Terra's betrayal and disappearance. It was a poorly concealed secret amongst their team that Gar and Terra had become… involved.

"I can... help."

Both Beast Boy and Cyborg's heads rapidly swiveled up towards Raven. While Beast Boy trusted Raven to keep his secrets and Cyborg had straight up forgotten that she was even there, the truth was that neither of them had thought she'd offer any form of assistance. Now they were both confused as all Hell because she was offering help and they didn't know what she had in mind…

"I'd appreciate any help you can offer me Rae, but I'm curious." Garfield turned his whole body towards the floating woman and leaned his hip against the T-car. "What nature of help do you have in mind?"

Raven's hood turned just the slightest amount to reveal one pale cheek and dark purple eye. "I control... everything about me. You want to learn control… I can help."

Gar bit his lip as he stewed over Raven's offer… Although Rae's idea had merit, it was also quite a bit more complicated than she was making it out to be.

"Rae… I need to control hundreds of different animal instincts running riot throughout my psyche, and I'm not sure how you can help me with that," Gar slowly responded. "On the other hand, you're definitely the perfect person to help me find some mental discipline. There's only one hang-up that I can think of…"

After a tense few moments Raven just waved a hand in a go ahead gesture.

Beast boy rubbed the back of his neck but he didn't look away from Raven's face as he continued. "Here's the problem Ray. I'm not willing to completely regulate my emotions like you do. I think that experiencing a full range of emotions is a vital part of being healthy…"

To both Beast Boy and Cyborg's surprise Raven only nodded as if Gar was stating the obvious.

"You're okay with the fact that I'm not aiming for perfect control?" Gar was surprised because Raven usually had punishing standards when it came to both training and discipline.

For several moments in a row, Raven just floated there staring at Gar. When she did finally stir it was without any warning. She very quickly floated extremely close to Beast Boy's shoulder, grabbed a hold of his face and whispered directly into his ear in a haunted, little voice. "I thought you understood me better than this Beast Boy. I thought that… Well… You're wrong about me. If it weren't completely necessary for the sake of the entire world that I do so, then I would never have done this to myself…"

With that bomb dropped, Raven instantly created an inky black wormhole in space and disappeared.

When Gar looked over at Cyborg's noticeably curious face, he caught the exact moment the man decided to stay classy and mind his own business. In return, Gar grinned and clapped his hand on his friend's shoulder. "I think… I have an apology I need to make to Raven."

"Ah… Well... These things do happen." Cyborg smiled consolingly at his friend and then drank the last of his coke.

Later that same evening, the Teen Titans were back at Titans Tower, had completed their nightly training drills, and were settling in for some free time before bed. Gar had been trying, unsuccessfully, to catch Raven's eyes during their earlier training, because he knew that he needed to apologize to her. The reason for the apology was simple.

Raven was right.

Garfield hadn't known. He hadn't understood. He hadn't even tried to figure out Raven's motives at all... Truth be told, Garfield had always just assumed that Raven preferred to be the way that she was. He'd never given a single thought to why his very quiet friend followed the Azarath teachings so carefully, and isolated her emotions to the extremes that she does.

Long story short, he hadn't been a very good friend…

Gar couldn't even imagine having to live his life in a monochromatic state of perfect calm, and now that he knew there was a force or evil of some kind that was forcing her to do so, he wanted to know what it was... What could possibly go wrong if Raven just allowed herself to feel?

Despite his new desire to understand Raven's circumstances better, she was proving to be extremely elusive tonight. He'd tried looking in all of her normal hangouts, but there'd been no sign of her anywhere. In the end, Gar decided that he'd give his friend some space for now and try again later. The only problem with that idea was that raven really was his best bet when it came to cultivating some form of meditative practice. She was a lifelong student of the stuff and by far the most knowledgeable…

Gar sighed as he climbed an access way to the roof and took a seat cross-legged next to the cliff-like edge. The night was calm, warm and quiet, and the tower's roof was out of the way enough that he really might be able to find some inner peace all by himself… maybe.

Ugh…

Gar really wasn't all that optimistic… Lately, he had the attention span of a goldfish... It was like his mind was the frontlines of a war zone taking place during a hurricane...

After closing his eyes, Gar attempted to recreate the lotus position by sitting with his back straight, his legs crossed and the backs of his palms resting atop his knees. It took a few moments for him to figure out what to do with his tail, but eventually he was low and stable and ready. With that done, he began actively trying to shove any and all extraneous thoughts out of his head.

.........

Starfire's big, round, beautiful, luscious breasts and her soft hands running along his stomach to his...

Shit!!….

Gar hadn't even lasted four whole seconds before he started falling down the whole lusty fantasy routine in his head, and by the time he'd caught himself, his cock was already growing hard. Gar rapidly shook out his head as if he could force the perversion out through his ears. Then he closed his eyes again because if at first you don't succeed, try, try again, and all that jazz…

Thinking about nothing hadn't worked, so this time Gar would focus on the wind around him and how it played along his skin.

..........

Terra's mouth and tongue playing against his most sensitive skin as she slowly brought the head of his dick deeper into her throat...

SHIIIT!!!

Dammit!

This time Gar's loss of focus had stung him for sure. Terra was the worst kind of traitor and had been one of Slade's stooges the entire damned time he'd known her.

Ouch...

This wasn't working....

"You're not supposed to stop meditating when you catch yourself thinking about something, Beast Boy… You're supposed to acknowledge the thought and then let it go, rather than indulging in it. Frustration is the death of serenity and should be avoided wherever possible…"

When Gar opened his eyes, he saw Raven floating cross legged just off of the roof, directly in front of him. He smiled at her even as he noted that the hooded girl was still calling him Beast Boy even during their off hours. He'd invited her to call him Gar or even Garfield several dozen times in the past, but she almost never did. He dropped that line of thinking as he continued to regard the purple shrouded super-heroine in front of him. "If what you're saying is true, then I'm surprised you hang out with me at all Rae. I frustrate you all the time."

Raven didn't react to Gar's words because in his experience she never does, but he thought he saw the ghost of amusement underneath her shroud. She also didn't reply to his statement at all, which could only mean that she completely agreed with him and had no idea why she tolerated his presence. Gar grinned again because he didn't mind his most mysterious friend's confusion. When it comes to Raven, Gar had long ago decided that it doesn't matter why she likes him just so long as she does.

"Try again, and I'll lead you through a simple exercise," Raven quietly encouraged.

Gar nodded his assent but he also held up a hand in a stopping motion. "First I have an apology to make. I haven't tried to understand you or why you do any of the things that you do. I'm beginning to think I haven't been a very good friend..."

Raven almost immediately shook her head and settled her cloaked body on the concrete at his knees. "Beast Boy… What I said to you this afternoon wasn't fair... If you'd been pushing me for answers up until now, we wouldn't be the… friends… that we are. I'm not the sharing type, so I'd be actively avoiding you by now."

Gar stared into the dark recesses of Raven's hood because he didn't immediately know how to react to what his light grey skinned friend had just said. His most recent epiphany and subsequent desire to better understand Raven's circumstances was immediately being thwarted by her desire to continue keeping secrets…

Well… Fine then… Gar was just going to have to keep things simple...

"I understand," Garfield replied with a slow nod of his head. "I'll avoid pressing you for answers, but I do want you to keep something in mind... If you ever decide to confide in me, I promise to support you and keep your secrets. I've got your back Rae. You won't scare me off…"

After several very tense, very silent moments Raven nodded her head in return and her glowing violet eyes may even have softened just a touch. "Beast Boy… Gar… Close your eyes."

Gar nodded his understanding, closed his eyes and then drifted along as Raven's husky yet melodic voice carried him through a beginner's meditation. It was noticeably out of the ordinary so far as guided meditations went because it featured the God that Raven prays to quite a bit. On the other hand, the meditation was just as peaceful as you'd expect from a pacifistic God like Azarath, and Raven's voice was soothing in the extreme. For an indeterminate amount of time, Gar floated free in a state of calm the likes of which he'd never felt before, and wouldn't have thought he was capable of.

"Beast Boy…. We are done for the day… How do you feel?"

When Gar's eyes snapped open again, he found himself just looking at the scenery around the tower as if he had brand new eyes to see it with. "I… I don't think I've ever…"

"I believe you…"

In the deep recesses of her hood Gar thought he could see yet another blush on Raven's face and he arched an eyebrow at her in question.

"I was… careless… I'm an empathic healer and I was only aiming to help calm your thoughts… I didn't expect the intensity of your emotions… I…" Raven's cheeks colored further and she hid even deeper within her hood.

"I completely hosed you down with my out of control feelings and animal impulses," Gar guessed with just trace amounts of a grin on his face.

"I… yes…"

"Sorry bout that Rae." Gar looked at his feet because all the sudden he was feeling bashful in a way that was hard to describe. "I know best just how uncomfortable my brain is right now…"

Raven had started floating away from Beast Boy as she explained her out of character blush, but at his crestfallen look, she floated back down and sat at his knees again. "Beast Boy… Yes… I was uncomfortable in your mind. It's a jungle in there. It's a wild tangle of every feeling imaginable, experienced through the perception of every animal I've ever heard of. There is a common theme however…"

Gar's gaze snapped up from his feet to meet Raven's eyes. He was nervous now… He had no idea how she was going to critique his mind, and he suddenly felt like he was on trial...

Raven must have seen Gar's nervous reaction because she cut the suspense short for once. "Gar… You are… kind… moral… you're decent. You have hundreds and hundreds of different animal personas vying for dominance within your psyche, but… they're all essentially good. I, on the other hand, have only a few personas couched inside of myself, and I cannot say the same."

Gar's gutcheck response to Raven's words was to shake his head in disagreement, but the floating super-heroine's bright violet eyes suddenly loomed in quite a bit closer to his face and he managed to stop himself on a dime.

"Gar…" Raven had a slightly manic look in her eyes at this point. "We will be continuing this training every night from now on… I might learn just as much from you as you do from me. We shall see…" As per the norm when it comes to Raven, she suddenly took off with no warning whatsoever, flying down the side of the tower towards her suite of rooms on a lower floor.

Gar was left just sitting there, fully enjoying the city view, the cool night air, and his current state of complete relaxation. He sprawled back along the concrete, dangled his calves off the edge, and took several deep and refreshing breaths. He was beginning to think there might be something to all this meditation stuff after all…

Four Months Later….

Cyborg muttered a bitter oath and then chewed on his lip as he fought with everything he had, but it just wasn't working. He had sweat pouring down half of his forehead and dripping into his single human eye, but it was barely noticed in his mad fighting frenzy. With a roar of feral anger, Cyborg made one last ditch effort in an all out offensive for the ages… and then he died…

Cyborg's Lu Kang lost to Beast Boy's Scorpion in what would always be remembered as the most epic Mortal Kombat tournament that they'd ever played against each other.

"Dammit," Cyborg roared as he threw the controller down on the couch beside himself. "You're getting too damned good nowadays, and I can't distract you like I used to."

Gar fought against his desire to gloat… and lost. He beamed a wide and satisfied smile at his gaming buddy and dusted off his shoulder in the age old "yeah I know I'm clearly awesome" movement.

"Ugh… It hurts every single time, but this was such a close match and that somehow makes it worse…" After straightening from his defeated heap, Cyborg started giving Beast Boy an appraising look. "What's changed, Gar? I used to own your ass in Mortal Kombat every single time, and now we have basically even odds."

Gar grinned even as he shrugged his shoulders dismissively. "It's no big thing dude. I actually have an attention span now because of the daily meditation."

"Ahhhhh I see… You mean all the "meditating" that you're doing while all alone with Raven…" It was a cheap shot and Cyborg knew it. Nobody really believed that anything was going on between Gar and Raven, but nowadays teasing him about the purple cloaked girl was the only guaranteed way to get a rise out of him.

Gar had been stung by this particular line of teasing several different times in the last few months, and yet it almost worked on him again today because no, nothing was going on between him and Raven. Hell, he still had no idea what she even looked like under that cloak of hers. To this day, and despite the fact that they spent a lot of time alone together, she'd never once removed her hood. By flexing his mental muscles, Gar managed to keep himself from freaking out this time as well, but he did give Cyborg the stink eye for his efforts.

Cyborg caught far more of Beast Boy's annoyance than the boy probably meant to reveal on his face, so he grinned at his greenest of friends to take some of the sting out of his words. "Well okay then Gar… If you want me to stop jumping to conclusions, then why don't you tell me what it is that you're actually doing in those super-secret and private meditation sessions of yours?"

Gar had been keying up the character that he'd use for their next fight, but at Cyborg's question he stopped and put down the controller. At first Gar had kept the details of his and Raven's time together a secret because he'd thought meditating was a little bit embarrassing. Nowadays, the sessions had become kind of special and personal between him and Raven, so talking about them was becoming difficult for completely different reasons… Still... Cyborg was one of Gar's best friends and he was clearly genuinely interested, so he'd try to explain as best he could.

"Well… It's simple and yet not so simple at exactly the same time Cyborg," Garfield began in a neutral tone of voice. "The long and short of it is that Raven's been a complete life saver for me. She's a skilled empathic healer, and as it turns out I've been in major need of one. Apparently, having just shy of a million different wild animal personas vying for dominance inside of my mind was doing my psyche some very real damage. For the past four months, Raven's been doing a lot of the heavy lifting deep within my subconscious, while I focus on mastering the art of meditation. Mostly because I've been receiving a lot of Raven's help every single time I practice, she thinks I'll be able to reach a profound state of spiritual awareness sometime very soon. She thinks I'll achieve a deep enough meditation that I can experience my own subconscious exactly like she does hers."

"And that's important…... why?" Cyborg wasn't really the type to get involved in the spiritual side of things, but since he'd seen a ton of very real magic and faith based supernatural powers during his time as a Titan, he wasn't going to disregard Gar's words. Then there was also the fact that Garfield was performing miles and miles better than before he and Raven started shacking up. The boy was more focused these days, more disciplined, and well… just… more.

"Well for one thing, I don't want to have to rely on Raven to maintain my sanity anymore, so I need to get access to the zoo in my head," Gar explained after flopping back onto the couch and looking up at the ceiling. "Don't get me wrong Dude. Raven's been like a hundred percent amazing and supportive for the past few months, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm imposing on her. She loses her cool after every session… kinda. At the very least, she's usually blushing by the time we're done."

"Blushing…. Why blushing?" Cyborg had raised an eyebrow at this most recent news because the very idea of the super quiet, calm and remote Raven blushing seemed completely absurd.

"Well, according to Raven, she inadvertently encounters a lot of my memories at random while she's moving about my psyche, and they come complete with all of the emotional context," Gar explained with a sigh. "Raven explained that much while she was asking for my permission to experience my memories, but she always refuses to explain exactly what memories she's seen."

"So Raven's experiencing random snippets of your life up until now," Cyborg paraphrased with a nod. "I still don't get it though, Gar... I don't understand why you're trying to end this for Raven's sake… It actually sounds to me like it should be you that's embarrassed rather than her. No offense, but you didn't have what anyone would call a heroic childhood..."

While at first Gar thought about acting offended purely for the hell of it, in the end he couldn't be bothered, and Cyborg wouldn't have fallen for it anyway. Instead, he simply shrugged his shoulders, and took Cyborg's question at face value... "Well yeah, sure, I'm not a huge fan of my origin story, but I'm kinda getting the impression that Raven's in a similar boat. I'm sorta hoping that my own inglorious past might make Raven feel more… normal… less.... alone."

"That's… woah dude… You really are a rare variety of kind… but I still don't understand why Raven's getting all embarrassed," Cyborg prompted.

"Sex and perversion," Gar suddenly announced.

"Say what now," Cyborg shot back.

"I'm pretty sure that Raven's encountering a ton of the more... mature thoughts and memories that you can find inside of a healthy teenaged male's mind," Gar added, while giving Cyborg an extremely meaningful look.

It took about five whole seconds for the man to actually get there, but all of the sudden, Cyborg completely understood Gar's meaning, at which point he immediately began howling with unrestrained, joyful laughter. He laughed until he cried and then he laugh/cried until he couldn't breathe anymore because wow that was soooooo awkward!

Well over a minute later, when Cyborg finally managed to calm back down again, he slowly turned back towards Gar again, only to find the teen idly customizing a fighter on the player selection screen. "Gar… Please… Tell me the truth. Do you really think Raven's being subjected to all of your pervy inner thoughts and lusty desires?"

Gar didn't see the point in denying it anymore so he just nodded his head and then stared at the ceiling. "I don't have any proof, but that's exactly what I think dude. I think she's putting up with a lot for me, and I need to sort myself out as soon as possible for her sake."

Since it was officially time to stop teasing his friend, Cyborg patted Gar on the shoulder and picked up his controller again. "Here's the thing Gar… On the one hand, I feel bad for you because what you just described is less than an ideal situation. On the other hand, it seems like Raven's really stepping up big time in the friendship department, and I think that makes everything else completely worth it."

A smile slowly spread across Gar's face because Cyborg was right. He and Raven really had become closer as a result of the time they'd spent together. It wasn't as if she'd opened herself up to him because Raven really doesn't do that, but he'd found out what her favorite music was, what artists and television shows she appreciated, her taste in books and so on and so forth. Gar nodded his agreement to Cyborg's encouragement and slapped his shoulder in appreciation.

"I couldn't agree more man…. Annnnd we just talked right through your last chance at a rematch. It's time that I go to another one of those meditation sessions, and as you well know, our Raven's a real stickler for punctuality." As Gar bounced up to his feet and started walking out of the room, he was pretty damn pleased with himself for managing to retire on a high note. That's the reason why he couldn't help the wide grin that split his face when he heard a pained groan leaking out of his most mechanically inclined friend.

For the sake of convenience and because Raven can create portals to instantly travel wherever the hell she wants to go, the meditative sessions had migrated to Gar's rooms in the tower. By the time they finished with the meditation, Gar was usually relaxed enough that he slept really well, which is why they'd decided to complete the sessions just before bedtime while sitting on his bed. Despite the location and the time, these little meetings of theirs really weren't the least bit sexual…

Well… at least for Gar...

Truth be told, Garfield still had no idea what Raven was actually getting out of their sessions, because she never explained what it actually was that she was experiencing. He had to assume whatever Rae was doing in his mind/spirit was doing her some good, because the woman really had been doing well lately. She seemed more... grounded than she used to be, a little less remote.

Entering his room, Gar wasn't surprised to find Raven already there and poking gently at his cactus garden. The violet eyed woman had a weird sort of kinship with the desert flowers, which Gar figured might be due to their relative isolation and prickly exteriors.

Of course, Gar had never mentioned the fact that Rae clearly liked cacti because he already knew exactly what he was going to get her for her birthday in a month, and he didn't want to ruin the surprise. What that meant, was that he made himself busy in his washroom cleaning his teeth and stuff so that she wouldn't know that he'd been observing her.

Soon enough, Gar was toileted, showered, and ready for bed in his normal pajama get-up (a tank top and shorts). He re-entered his bedroom and found Raven sitting cross legged at the foot of his bed (Or so he thought. The cape really did obscure the woman's form). Either way, it appeared that she was ready to begin, so Gar walked over to his bed and sat across from her in a much improved Lotus position.

The darkness within Raven's cowl turned up towards Gar and a pair of luminous violet eyes regarded him closely. "Today I will only be monitoring your psyche, Gar. I won't be helping you reach out for your spiritual center at all because my assistance is what keeps you from completing the process. If you manage to find your subconscious without my help, you will know it immediately and I will meet you there. It's important that you don't go into this with any expectations. Please follow the meditation practices of Azarath with a very open mind…"

"I understand Rae. I won't get frustrated if nothing happens." Gar wanted to convey his thanks before they got started because as per usual he was most likely going to be super relaxed and ready for bed when they were done. "Rae... I want you to know that I really appreciate all of the effort you've put into helping me. I don't know exactly what you've been going through in my psyche, but I do know that it forces you outside of your comfort zone."

Raven's hood jerked up as if he had stung her with his words, but then she relaxed when she saw the confused expression on his face. "I've been... learning from you Gar. This hasn't been a one way transaction…"

Gar nodded and smiled at Raven because he wanted her to relax. "I understand that, even though you've refused to explain anything... Well, hopefully I'll get to see what all the fuss is about with my own eyes starting tonight."

Raven nodded her head slowly but didn't say anything in response. Instead, she sidled a little closer and lay her hands on top of his upturned palms.

The first time Raven had done the whole hand holding thing, Gar hadn't known how to react. For a split second he'd thought that Raven was making a move on him and he'd instantly gone into meltdown mode. He was a huge fan of Raven sure, but she still hadn't revealed what she looked like under that cloak of hers. It might be shallow of him, but he knew he wouldn't be able to return Raven's potential feelings for him without being physically attracted to her first. For that reason, and because he didn't want to hurt his friend's feelings, he'd almost started panicking.

Thankfully, Beast Boy had contained his fight or flight response juuust long enough for Raven to finally explain what it was that she was up to. She was looking to astral project herself directly into his psyche, and to do that as effectively as possible she needed to make physical contact.

Long story short, Raven didn't have any romantic intentions at all. Holding hands was just the most convenient way of maintaining skin on skin contact. Since that night, they'd settled into a routine, and Gar hadn't given the casual contact much thought at all.

Gar gave Raven's hands a quick squeeze before he focused his entire attention on his breathing. Over time, any and all extraneous thoughts drifted away, allowing him to focus his entire attention on both the Azarath meditation practices and the now. An indeterminable amount of time later, he felt his consciousness shifting into a different location, and he instinctively knew that he was heading in the right direction. It's his psyche and mind after all, so in the end finding his centre felt more like coming home than anything else…

With a brilliant white flash of light that he could see even through his closed eyelids, Gar found himself in an incredibly humid and warm place. Slowly opening his eyes, Gar could see nothing but rainforest in every direction. At first he was surprised by his new surroundings, but upon further thought this leafy atmosphere was completely appropriate. Even as he sat there in a full lotus position, Gar could hear the pitter patter of various animals moving through the trees, and he could somehow feel many, many eyes on his body.

"You did it, Beast Boy. I'm proud of you... Gar."

Beast Boy slowly turned and then smiled up at Raven as she floated out of the underbrush into his clearing. "Thanks Rae. I couldn't have done it without you." Rising to his feet, Gar looked at Raven and arched an eyebrow questioningly. "Ummm… What should I expect now?"

"You are about to be confronted by your animal personas because they lack… discipline. They think that they're in charge here, so they'll try to assert their dominance over you." Raven gestured around their clearing and the shadowy forest beyond. "Right now, I am hiding us with the meagre power that I have within this place, but soon I will run out and your inner beasts will come."

"Every animal, all at once?" Gar felt a chill go up his back because it sounded like he was about to be stampeded by thousands of different beasts of every shape and size.

"No…" Raven shook her head from deep inside of her hood and then stepped closer to Beast Boy's side. "Only the strongest beasts have come to confront you tonight. The rest are being kept away. There is something you must keep in mind if you want to succeed and assert control over your inner personas."

"What's that?" Gar was whispering now because Raven was whispering. A part of him wondered if doing so was even necessary.

"This is your body, your mind, your psyche, Gar. You are the biggest and baddest thing in here and you are in control." Raven turned towards Gar and pierced him with one of her brilliant violet eyes. "You must believe this with conviction if you wish to truly master this place."

"I see... I understand… I'm in charge," Gar announced with a nod and the beginnings of a feral smile on his face. He could feel the truth in Raven's words, along with an odd wellspring of strength that came with that understanding. With this, Gar thought he might finally understand what it means to have superhuman strength.

It's time. Let me show these beasts who's boss. As Gar cracked his neck and bounced on his toes Raven waved her arms and then collapsed to a knee in the grass. Apparently hiding them from the rest of his personas had taken far more out of Raven than she'd allowed herself to show. As he walked past, he briefly rested a hand on Raven's shoulder. "Thanks Rae. You're awesome. I'll see you in a few."

Raven nodded her head as if everything Beast Boy had said was merely common sense.

RRROOOOOAAAAARRRR!!

"Ah yes the T-Rex… This is going to be interesting." Gar cracked his knuckles as he marched into the woods and was instantly lost from sight.

While the menagerie of wild animals that ran rampant through Beast Boy's soul definitely were the reason why Raven helped her friend dive this deep into his psyche, they weren't the reason why she enjoyed visiting it so much.

This place, the metaphysical tropical rainforest that Raven was currently floating through… Every square inch of it was made up of Gar's life and life experiences. This place was Garfield's memories. This kaleidoscope of colours and scents was Garfield's cares and concerns. This idyllic jungle paradise contained every joy and loss that Garfield had ever experienced...

With every blade of grass, or leafy tree that Raven brushed up against, a scene shot through her entire being as if she was living it, immersing her in vivid scenes in which Gar made decisions based on whatever circumstances or morality he had available at the time.

Garfield Logan… Gar… Was both a victim of circumstance exactly like she was, and a wonderful human being… He always tried his very best to do the right thing regardless of how he feels at the time, and by the Gods did the boy feel… Beast Boy felt powerfully about absolutely everything that he experienced. His happiness elated her to an extent that left her heart racing. His sadness crushed her until she could barely breathe with it. His passions and convictions fueled him in ways that she was only now beginning to understand…

Raven grew up completely immersed in the emotion denying meditative practices of Azarath, and they worked. She quite literally never allowed herself to feel with the intensity that her closest male friend did oh so very often....

But that was the beauty of this place… Raven could experience a wide range of powerful feelings for herself to gain valuable perspective and the beginnings of emotional maturity, all without ever allowing her own emotions to fly out of control… The whole experience was doing wonders for Raven's mental health, even as she did an even better job than normal containing the elements within herself that would endanger those around her.

But not all of the reasons why Raven appreciated Gar's psyche were so honorable… There was also the fact that Garfield had those kinds of memories… and there were a lot of them.

Hunger, desire, closeness, the slide of skin on heated skin, wetness, tightness, oversensitivity and a driving need to find release with your partner...

Sex… Hot, hard and intensely physical fucking...

It was amazing.

Raven never would've imagined that she'd have a predilection for such a seemingly intimate act, but she did and it was strong.

Long story short, one of Raven's newest and most favorite pastimes was experiencing Garfield's sex life… The voyeurism involved was shameful, it was mortifying, it was wrong, but she simply didn't care. Of course, if she weren't carefully regulating her emotions, Raven would've crawled into a hole and died of embarrassment. Thankfully for her, she wasn't allowing that particular emotion to grow into prominence in her mind…

Raven didn't want to give this up.

Gar was very, very good at having sex… He was very instinctual and aggressive in a primal sort of way... but he was also agile, flexible, attentive, generous… and extremely well-endowed...

Raven knew for a fact that Terra… the skank… didn't deserve even a single one of the daily, hard squirting orgasms that she received around Gar's absolutely incredible cock before she finally pulled the trigger and betrayed his trust... The only consolation that Raven could find in the situation, was that Terra would definitely be missing Garfield's dick by now, along with the things that he could do with it… The fact of the matter was that Raven had only ever observed Gar's sexual prowess from his perspective, and yet she still ended up touching herself every single night in the privacy of her rooms as she imagined the things that he could do to her pussy…

Long story short, Garfield Logan was the trigger that caused Raven's sexual awakening, and along with this awakening came some brand new knowledge about her body that she hadn't known before...

In the past, Raven had always avoided even thinking about her mixed human and demon heritage, but more recently she was starting to wonder if she wasn't actually part succubus or something… At the very least, she now knew that her pussy had quite a few talents and abilities that didn't come standard in normal human women… As an example, for well over two months now, Raven had been fucking herself with a dildo that was almost as big as Gar's dick, and yet she always ended up having to stretch herself to her limits in order to take it inside of her… Her pussy simply refused to stay anything other than virgin tight and flawless...

CRASH!!

The trees on the North side of the clearing that Raven was currently floating through were suddenly trampled to the forest floor as an absolutely gigantic T-Rex was sent careening helplessly through the air. Following the T-Rex's ragdolling body, Garfield Logan came dashing through the trees so that he could leap atop the T-Rex's floundering form, and begin raining punches down into its unbelievably durable body.

"The T-Rex isn't a super-villain or even really evil, Gar," Raven immediately called out. "It's an aspect of your psyche, and it's testing you. You want to make it submit, not destroy it!"

"How though," Gar called back, as he slammed the dinosaur's massive toothy mouth down into the soft loamy earth and cast a glance back in Raven's direction.

"Now that you've established that you're stronger, make eye contact and explain the rules," Raven called back. "It'll comprehend your demands because it is you!"

With a nod and then another hard slam of the struggling T-Rex's head into the ground, Gar dropped to within half a meter of the beast's massive slitted eye, and then whispered into its face for well over a minute.

Then the T-Rex was rising slowly to its feet, nodding its head as if in understanding, and then ambling off into the forest, and Garfield was walking in Raven's direction with a shocked silly expression dominating his face…

"What is it Garfield," Raven asked, as traces of her curiosity slipped out past her control.

After swallowing heavily and looking up at Raven's nearby floating form, Gar lifted his hand in front of his body and then grew a set of unbelievably sharp T-Rex claws on the tips of his fingers… "I can perform partial transformations of any beast that I gain control over..."

If Raven's self-control were any weaker than it was, she would've whooped and cheered ecstatically in response to Gar's sudden good fortune. She knew better than anyone just how hard and how often Garfield strained his mind and his body while attempting to perform partial transformations, and she also knew that he'd never had even the tiniest amount of success…

Until now that is...

"This… this is big, Rae. This is massive," Garfield just barely managed to breathe out.

"Yes. Yes I know," Raven succinctly replied.

And Raven did know… During the time that she'd been visiting Beast Boy's inner realm, she'd learned everything that there was to know about Garfield Logan's greatest ambition… Gar wanted to be able to maintain a mostly human form while making use of all the strengths and abilities inherent in his various animal personas…

As simple as that idea sounded in principle, the outcome would be completely incredible… For instance… What if… Garfield Logan could recruit the ultra-dense muscles and tendon strength of a prehistoric gorilla, the wingspan of a massive prehistoric bird, the hearing and echolocation of a bat, the infrared vision of a pit viper, the eyesight of an eagle, the balance and sense of space of a jungle cat, the sense of smell and pheromone sensitivity of an elephant, the sense of touch of a catfish, the ultra-dense skin of a T-Rex, the disregard for pain of a wolverine, the healing speed of a dog, the regeneration of an axolotl, the absolute poison resistance of an opossum, the magnetic sensing abilities of a sea turtle, the electroreception sensory abilities of a platypus, the ability to channel electricity like an electric eel, the ability to generate a powerful neurotoxin like a puffer-fish, and finally the ability to change his skin color at will like that of a chameleon…

What if Gar could do all of these absolutely amazing things in one, streamlined, mostly human, form?...

"Get to work Gar," Raven suddenly ordered in an all business tone of voice. "While time does move slowly in here, it is still moving, and you still have hundreds of thousands of animals to bring under your control. By the end of the night, I expect you to dominate all of the beasts with the most useful abilities..."

"Righteo boss," Gar cheered back with a bright and cheerful smile lighting up his whole entire face.

Once again, Raven found a shiver running throughout her spiritual body, and she wasn't dense enough to miss the reason why…

Several Hours Later…

When Garfield Logan finally returned to the physical present from deep within his psyche, it was to find himself in quite the precarious situation… It appeared that he'd slumped forward at some point during his and Raven's meditation session, and his face was resting upon her crossed legs as if he was receiving the nearly mythical lap pillow treatment… He was going to have to move quickly if he wanted to get away before Raven returned from her meditative state… But that was the moment when he felt a very soft pair of hands resting atop his head, where they were gently threading back and forth through his bright green hair…

Holy moly...

Raven was currently being openly affectionate, which could only mean she had no clue that he was already awake… Mostly because he didn't have a choice in the matter, at least not if he wanted to live, Gar simply allowed himself to enjoy how Rae was gently combing her nimble little fingers against his scalp… He also started making some very subtle changes to his inner biology that would enhance all of his senses to absolutely astonishing levels of acuity. He wanted to know more about Raven's current state of mind, and although he didn't have access to any empathic abilities, his newfound ability to sense pheromones would most likely help him ferret out her current mood…

Over the next ten to thirty seconds, Gar slowly activated a wide array of hyper-advanced sensory abilities, including but not limited to an infrared heat sensing ability, electroreception (the ability to sense electricity), the scent gathering ability of a bear, and the spatial awareness of a feline. With all of these senses synergizing together within his mind, it was almost like Gar could actually see Raven even with his eyes closed. He could sense her body heat as if it was an orange and red silhouette in his mind, and he could feel the electrical impulses that fuelled her nervous system with similar results. It all came together to allow Gar to 'see' the shape of Rae's body beneath her baggy purple cloak for the very first time…
