I roared, baring my ivory fangs and snapping, "Don't be too much!" She looked surprised eyes wide, form frozen as if shocked by my outburst. Silence stretched for a long time. Nervousness spread through my entire being. I licked my maw trying to stay strong. "Will we merge or will you die?" She said after a time. I listened but had no desire to hear her words. Merge with her?

What will happen to my young then? So, I tried to buy time, "I still—" I was cut off mid-sentence. "We are in another world. Separate and casual like on earth, where we would not die any moment." She said. I wished to chuckle, but instead, I ended up gritting my teeth and looking up at her high up in the tree, when had she returned? In that form, if I jumped up and encompass her throat with my jaws and sank my fangs into her delicate flesh, if I will be able to kill her or suffer?

I felt the latter would be possible. I felt that she could shift fast than I could attack. Why?
