Amelia covered her hand, unsure what to do, but Albert had already brought over a band-aid for her.

As he disinfected and bandaged her finger, Albert couldn't help feeling so much fondness for her: "What are you trying to do? If you're hungry, just ask me. Or let someone else cook. Why do you have to get involved?"

She had never been able to cook. Amelia recalled almost burning down the Brown family home when she tried cooking last time. But still, she tried to chop some vegetables.

Amelia felt a little sorry: "I just wanted to cook a meal for you. I've been thinking that you've always been cooking for us, and I feel bad about it."

Albert's heart skipped a beat, and his voice husky, he said, "What are you talking about? There's nothing to feel guilty about. I cook for you to eat. If you don't want to eat, I wouldn't be happy either."

He hurriedly took Amelia outside.
