Capítulo 38: Special Chapter 10 Flood Casper Part 1
"Really? She drops out and pursues that course? Is she out of her mind? I mean, she's good in this field of career, only one semester and she'll graduate." I proclaimed.
"Chill!" Windy said.
"Windy, you think I can do that? I mean, it's not about the money that was wasted, it's about the time! If she wants to shift course, then she should have talked to me!"
"Brother, didn't you know? She's mending her heart."
"Mending her, what?" I confusedly ask.
"Her heart! She and her boyfriend split up. Didn't you know?" my twin sister asked me with mockery.
"How did you know?" I curiously ask.
"I heard it from Air."
I frown when I heard the name she mentioned. Air… Air Rooke, I will never forget the almost-boyfriend of my twin sister. "You still have communications with that Air?"
"Why not? Brother, you have to understand that Abstract isn't your property. She agreed that she'll study law because you said so, but remember, she said that she'll drop out when you did something that will make her uncomfortable."
"I just confess! What's the deal?"
"Oh, poor Flood. Did your brain have flooded? I mean, the day you confess was the day that you made her uncomfortable talking to you." she explained.
"I don't understand what you're pointing out."
She sighs. "Look, she had a lot on her plate recently and you made it more complicated so what I think, since she doesn't want anything to weigh on her shoulders anymore, she chose to drop even if she doesn't want to, but she has to." I shook my head in disbelief, I don't understand. "But, I saw her at the medical school near Heart Medical Center."
"I see... Do you know what did she do there?"
"No."
"I see... Okay, I'll just do my research then." I said. "How's Storm?" I asked.
"Not good. He's actually in a bad shape." Windy sadly replied.
I clicked my tongue. "How's Mom?" I asked.
"Well, she's acting strongly in front of Storm but she's crying whenever she'll come home."
I close my eyes. Storm and I have a huge gap in our age but we get along. For an unknown reason, the joyful and bright kid became lifeless.
"I'll visit him tomorrow." I declare.
"I'll warn you, have more patience, he's a patient. Storm is not the Storm we used to know. His sickness changed him in just a small period." Giving me a piece of information I can hear the sadness in her tone.
I just nod. From the moment he got sick, I didn't see him smile again. The last time I saw him smile was the first time we knew his sick after that, his eyes became dull, lifeless.
*"Flood, where are you?" Mom asks in the line the moment I answer that phone call.
"I'm..." I don't know if I'll answer her with honesty because I'm currently enrolling the girl I'm sponsoring.
"Hurry, come to the Heart Medical Center, your brother is here." Mom commands.
"I'll be there." That's all I've said then put my phone back in my pocket and looked at the long line and the girl near me, who seem to be not sweating from the heat of the sun. She's not bothered about the sunburns.
"Is it alright if I'll leave you alone? I have an emergency to attend to." I whispered.
She nods. "You can leave me alone." she shortly replied.
I just sigh and went to the registrar to give the name of that girl I'm with. "Abstract Wrightwood, under the supervision and sponsored by Flood Casper, if there's any problem you can call this number," I said.
I smiled when I saw that she was shocked. I went straight to the hospital and sat on the bench there.
Mom, what room are you in?
Recipient: Mom 09:08 AM
Instead of a text message, I received a call from Dad.
"We're here at the VVIP number one." I didn't answer and went straight to the information center of the hospital to ask the direction of that room.
"Nurse, where's VVIP number one?" I asked but before they answer I saw dad in the hallway.
We were quietly walking when dad broke the silence between us. "Flood, your brother's life is not even fifty-fifty, he has this heart condition that we have to monitor and he might have brain cancer," Dad said while crying.
"We have to be strong for him." that's all I've said. Dad stayed outside so I decided to come in. Storm was looking outside the window. "Hey, how are you?" I ask to get his attention.
"Fine." He replied lifelessly and didn't even bother to look at me.
I sat on the chair near his sickbed. "Hey, buddy! I have something to show you." I said to get his attention then I get my phone out of my pocket. Honestly, I don't have anything to show him but I can't think straight to make an excuse.
He looked at my phone and then looked at me. "If you'll just show me our old photos, don't," he said. Is this for real, am I talking to a kid? Am I talking to a 3-year-old kid?
The gallery on my phone was open that I accidentally tapped. He looks at my phone and gets it from me, he taps something on it then he suddenly smiles.
"Who is she?" he asked while showing me a picture from my phone. I was shocked when I saw the picture. It was Abstract Wrightwood. "I like to see her." He added.
Honestly, I don't want others to see him as weak. His body got thinner than he used to in just a few days of not seeing each other. "Her name is Abstract. I'll ask her if she has time."
He was a bit happy while nodding then looks at the picture of Abstract again. "I like to meet her." his eyes were twinkling while saying that.*
