Gideon's eyes narrowed as he was on full alert. The enemy in front him was completely capable of killing him and his friends, so he had to tread with utmost care.

While Gideon's pure combat power had reached the level of a domain rank, he wanted to avoid fighting them simply because he lacked a domain. The disadvantage of having one was simply too large to overlook.

While he had his basic Domain to protect him from actual Domains, it did nothing to boost his power enough to fight someone who had a body enhancing domain or someone who used domain amplification.

Maybe if the opponent didn't use their domain, then he'd have a good chance, but that was just wishful thinking. So he had no choice but to fight as it is since he doubted this guy would let them flee.
