Capítulo 27: What if you get him as a brother in law

Monica left me after the bus started the journey. She is my sweet friend. I really love her. It's a pity that we are now going separate ways. Yeah that's life but we promised to call and text each other from time to time.

It didn't take long before the bus stopped at my destination. I got out after paying the conductor. Am really excited at this surprise visit am giving them. I had called them early this morning. And after knowing that my brother Roger is also at home, l decided to visit them today. It has been five months since l last visited. We could only talk on phone.

Roger is a footballer in a team know as the Buffaloes.He are always on tours and in training. So he is never home. He also plays in his school team. It's because of his talent that he won a bursary in university.

I hired a cab from the bus station to my mom's place. I rang the bell and it was my brother who opened the door. Oh my... Look who is here. Roger my young bro who look exactly like dad said while widening his hands for a hug.

It's has been a while my dear. I said as we hugged. Roger where did you put the remote? I had my mom's voice as we enter the house.

Mom look whom we have here. The most beautiful sister in the all world. Roger exaggerated. My mom beamed with joy the moment she saw me. Oh baby you finally came! Mom said in the most relaxing voice l was yearning to listen to these past few months. She gave me a tight hug. I missed you mom. I said. I missed you too my dear. She replied.

My mom and bro are the most important people in my life. I love them and the although of not having them in my life makes me sick. I always pray that God keep them safe for me.

I always take pride in the appearance of my mother. She has the most beautiful and kindest eyes that l have ever seen in my life. I also like her lovely long hair. I remember when she and dad visit us at school.,girls in my dorm would ask her to untie her hair so that they see it's length and always ask her what she use for it to look good.

I have seen many beautiful people, very few women match the beauty of my mom.

She not only worked hard to ensure that me and my brother had a good upbringing, but also she was strict. And l mean very strict and she would sometimes punish us whenever we went wrong.

Back then l didn't like those punishment she used to give us. And l would some times avoid her and sit besides dad. But now l look and realize that it was meant to lovingly correct us from from going astray. She is such a powerful individual.

We stayed in each other's embrace for some good time. If it's not Roger's complaints that we forget him, we would have stayed like that until tomorrow may be.

You are a boy why are you asking for attention. I asked Roger teasingly. You are 22 this year why mom still call you baby and hug you for long? Roger also asked.

Because girls are always babies no matter how old they. Whether they are with their parents or in their husband's house. But boys have to take care and protect their sisters, wives and parents they can't babies and also it has been too long since l last saw mom. Don't tell me that you are jealousy dear brother.

Of course l am mom doesn't hug me that long. I laughed at the way he was looking. Like a kid whose candy has been stolen.

OK let's go and eat we are starving. Mom snapped us from our talk. You haven't eaten lunch it's late. I asked. Don't even say anything it's because of you that am this hungry. Mom refused us to eat because she had a feeling that you will come today. She prepared all your favorites for lunch. I don't even know if am her son. I cried out loud all day that am hungry but it didn't work. Am so angry with you two. Roger purred as he framed being angry.

Oh mother your the best love you so much.l hugged again as l gave her many kisses on the cheek. Hmm she only said while smiling. Looking at my brother who pretends to be angry. I pouted my lips at him. Kiddish he blurted.

We went and started eating. People always say that before you move around, your mother's cooking are always the best because you haven't tasted other people's cooking. But for no matter whose cookings, l will choose my mother as the best cook.

We ate in silence reason is that ever see we were young, Mom prohibited as from talking while eating. The food was to delicious that l didn't want to stop from eating. After we were done me and Roger cleared the table.

When we were done, l gave them the thing l had brought for them.Seeing the smile of appreciation on their faces is a complishment.l want nothing other than making them happy.

Roger went to watch footballer in the leaving room. Me and mom went to her room. How is your health now? I asked her. Not that bad all thanks to you that l get treatment in time. Mom replied. I smiled at her as l sat on her bed. I kept quiet for a while. I don't know how she will react if l tell her that l have a boyfriend. Yet l have too. I don't want too keep things from her.

Is there anything bothering you Rynet.? MOM asked concern written on her beautiful face.She knows me well am always nervous when l have something to tell or request from her.

It's nothing serious mom l just want to tell you that l have a boy friend now. I seriously observed the reaction on her face. There was a time when she told me to start a relationship at 25 implying that at that age a girl is old enough to see everything clearly. That's why l was expecting a outburst from her but she surprised me with a smile.

I already know dear that there is something that happened in your life. The way you are glowing and how happy you are is enough for me to guess. Dear you don't have to be scared of telling me such a thing and am not going to come in between your happiness. If your boyfriend is serious about you, then you are free to go with him. You being 22 and still descent like this makes me happy and proud of you. My up bringing didn't go to waste. She told her hand on my shoulder. I wasn't ready for these words from her but cheeii am so happy. Thank you mom. I turned and gave her a hug.

I now realized that mom has changed a lot ever since dad died. She now takes everything simple. We left her bedroom and went to the living room. Roger was playing music. Coincidentally Keron's smile was playing at the time. Roger was humming the song.

Do you love that song l asked as l sat down. A lot not only the song but also the artist Am is his fun you know! He purred happily. Oh!! I replied and then continued;What if you get him as a brother in law? How will you behave around him?
