Capítulo 2: The Devil Fruit
Percy was watching as Garp and Roger discuss their next steps, he had no clue what they were talking about. All he knew was that he had to get out of here. Percy quickly realized that he was a marine, the uniform gave it all away. He was worried that he would be caught up in the following battle between the marines and the Roger pirates. After all, this incident needs to be hidden from the public. No one wanted anyone to know what truly happened at God's Valley. The fact that the marines and Gol D. Roger collaborated would make headlines across the world.
Therefore, this ended either ways, the marines battle the Roger pirates, or they both make a tacit agreement to never speak of this again and everyone swears by it. Either way, Percy does not want to deal with any of it.
As he was walking away, Percy heard someone behind him shouting at him
"PERCY, get your ass back here now and help clean bring your fellow brothers back to the ship!!"
[Damn it, I got caught] Percy thought to himself as he turned around to see someone he was not familiar with. [I can't remember who this is, should I just act like I never heard him]. He was about to do this when all of the sudden, a hand grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around.
"Thinking of leaving already?" the man smirked at him with disdain in his eyes.
"Can't believe that you were about to neglect your duties ensign"
"No sir" Percy shouted and saluted the man and started to pick up any soldiers that were around him.
"And hurry up," the random man shouted at Percy, "Admiral Sengoku said that the island is about to collapse and we don't want to be here when it happens."
Percy started to gather any of the marines that were left alive and relocate them to the nearest ship when he heard someone else yell
"And when you're done, see if there is any other bodies in the forest around you, never hurts to find out."
[Shit] Percy thought, [I got to do all this work when that fatass just sits on the boat and orders people around. The perks must be awesome of someone at higher rank than you].
As he was walking around the forest looking for any soldiers that was left alive, he stumbled upon something he didn't think he would see this soon after his transmigration... Devil fruit.
[Never thought I would get a devil fruit this soon into my adventure] Percy thought to himself, [should I eat it now, or wait a bit]. He knew that he had to be careful with his fruit choice, he could only eat one in his life, there was no point of eating the first one he saw.
As he was thinking of this, he heard the same irritating man shouting for Percy,
"Percy, where the hell are you and the men, we need to go, NOW!!"
"Yes sir" Percy yelled and stowed away the devil fruit, he needed to think of what to do next. But first, he needed to get off this island, he remembered from the manga that God Valley would soon disappear into the ocean he did not want to be one of its victims.
