Capítulo 18: People's Hearts pt. 4
While the duo were walking back, the man with a headband flew out the restaurant doors and Thirteen caught him. The man looked at Thirteen and chuckled as Thirteen asked "Are you a half-breed too?" the man shook his head and Thirteen put him down as he replied "No, just hungry but broke."
Luffy watched as Sanji came out of the restaurant with a plate of food and handed it to the man, asking "What's your name?" The man looked at the food and said flatly "I can't pay." Sanji lit a cigarette and said "A cook's job is to make sure people don't go hungry."
Luffy turned to Sanji and smirked as Thirteen passed them and walked into the restaurant as he heard Luffy say behind him "You should join my crew!" followed by Sanji replying "No."
Zeff looked to the door and saw Thirteen walking back inside, he said "You're not leaving?" Thirteen said blankly "I can't swim and there aren't any boats." before sitting on the stool at the kitchen window.
Zeff chuckled and handed him a plate of food, Thirteen looked at him, prompting him to say "This is your pay for a job well done." Thirteen opened his mouth and Zeff cut hsis words, saying "Just eat, dumb kid." before walking back into the kitchen and ignoring him.
Thirteen held the plate of food in his hands and looked around for a spot to lay it down before Zoro called "Big cat." making Thirteen look over as Zoro waved him over and pointed to a seat next to him and Nami.
Thirteen looked at the seat and then at the food before Nami said "Just come and sit, how are you going to eat with one hand?" as she propped up her head with a hand and her elbow on the table, looking bored.
Thirteen walked over and sat in the middle of the two before eating quietly, not saying a word. Zoro drank from his cup and shared a look with Nami, who pointed her eyes at Thirteen, while Zoro blinked, Nami rolled her eyes and looked away before Zoro grunted and put his cup down, turning to Thirteen and asking "What are you doing next?"
Thirteen paused and replied "Don't know." before continuing to eat. Zoro rubbed his chin and said "You know… I don't really have a sparring partner." Thirteen scanned him over before turning back to his food and replying "Too weak."
Zoro had a vein pop up on his forehead as Nami covered her mouth and giggled. Johnny and Yosaku whispered "Big Bro, he has a 450 MILLION bounty!" while Usopp ate while trembling and jumping every time Thirteen flicked his tail. Zoro shouted "I KNOW THAT, IDIOTS!" Before turning to Thirteen and saying "How do YOU know? Maybe you're too weak for me! Ever think of that?"
Thirteen looked up and thought about it before shaking his head and staying silent, Zoro got up and grabbed Thirteen's collar, shouting at him to fight him right here and now as Nami laughed, Johnny and Yosaku started sweating bullets and telling Zoro to calm down, and Usopp tried to scoop a spoonful of rice while shaking so bad the rice fell out of his spoon and onto the floor.He started crying.
As they started arguing, Luffy burst in through the door with Sanji, wrapped up in his arm, yelling "I FOUND OUR COOK!" Before flying into the table and knocking Zoro away into a wall as he laughed and Sanji shouted "I SAID NO!"
Zoro got up and said "Luffy!" Before beating him up, Sanji got free and teleported to Nami's side, taking her hand and kissing it, saying "What's an angel doing so far from heaven~?"
The restaurant was immediately rowdy with Johnny and Yosaku cheering Zoro and Luffy on at the same time, Sanji flirting with Nami, Nami playing him for free food, Usopp trying to scoop a single spoon of rice and failing, and Thirteen sitting quietly eating his food.
Zeff looked at the group and smiled as he cooked, everything was back to normal. The depressing atmosphere vanished into thin air.
Until a few days later.
