Capítulo 32: Off The Path Tour

The tour guide was very informative as he revealed the history of the catacombs and how King Louis had to get rid of the excess bodies and the need for cemeteries in the eighteenth century. When the graves were dug up, the remains were put in the catacombs. Over the years, they had been organized and even treated as art.

I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the way the bones were situated in the rooms were moved through. They were indeed used as art and architecture. Stacks of skulls were set up in a circular column that reached to the ceiling of the cave. Others were laid out as table bases.

The tour lasted two hours. Since we were planning on leaving, Pashcal put a hand on my arm, holding me back. I paused as the rest of the group left the catacombs and returned back to the world of contemporary Paris above. The guard followed the group out leaving us alone in the morbid room of the dead from ages ago.

“Okay.” I looked around. “Should I be scared?”
