The rest of the day went by in a tranquil slur, an underlying tension hanging in the air as many came to terms with what was happening. Many times, Katie met with the greetings of well-wishers, their warm smiles triggering a flurry of butterflies in her stomach.

These kind souls, however, didn't quite startle her like the few daredevils that had the nerve to confront her through the mind link for a more intimate display of their support and adoration. One or twice, Cole had personally warned them to stay away from the Luna's private space, ordering them to speak with the deltas, or if they felt so brazen, with betas who would then relay their messages as the law dictated.

Pack warriors were almost nowhere to be found having been dismissed by the white-haired Luna herself while hunters busied themselves with last-minute preparations. Here and there, a few carnivores could be seen lurking inside the forests, a phenomenon whose cause was now well-known.
