Capítulo 36: Database for curse words

Clary felt as though eons had passed as she listened in on the conversation, and even as the footsteps of the master and servant dissipated into silence, she remained standing in stillness. The weight of their words lingered heavily in the air. 

Leandre was utterly bewildered hearing their words. He felt like their language was shrouded in ambiguity. Nevertheless, he gleaned enough from their conversations to realize that they were talking about sacrifices - a barbaric practice that he couldn't fathom still existed in this day and age. Leandre's thoughts drifted to the dreaded Black Day, the brutal day when the wails of mothers reverberated throughout the world, cradling lifeless newborns in their trembling arms. Are these people talking about that day? If they did, why do they think an infant managed to survive?
