'What day is it?' Drew demanded.
He needed to know how much work he had missed. He was the CEO of a Fortune 500 company; he couldn't miss work on a whim. The stockholders would never let him hear the end of it. They already didn't like that he was in charge at the relatively young age of thirty-six.
He could never take vacations, never slack off, and never show any weakness in front of those vultures. He had known that as soon as he took over the company two years ago and hadn't had a moment to himself since.
Leo's answer was not what he wanted to hear. 'I don't know. If it's a workday, Mila's alarm will go off sooner or later but I don't know what the days of the week are unless she's watching a TV show live. The episodes only come out on certain days.'
Great. What had he expected by asking a cat?
'Leo, I need to know what day it is. I probably have to go to work too,' Drew insisted.
