Daniel was not ignorant either, because as soon as Angelica turned him with that look of fright on her face, he knew something was up and pulled her behind him, reversing their position in a blink of an eye. 

Hence, Angelica was left traumatized when she heard a whizzing sound, and the next Daniel was knocked to his ass by the impact, bringing the both of them down. 

There was instant chaos when the bullet went off as people ran helter-skelter for safety while Daniel's guards formed a protective barrier around him, their guns out and ready to fire at the assailant. 

"Daniel!" Angelica's lips trembled as she shook him, trying to wake him up. This was the first time that she saw such a shocking scene - staring death in the face - and was shaken. As annoying as her encounter with Daniel had been, she didn't wish him death - even though many others certainly wish him that.
