**ADDIE'S POV**
For a little while, I was lost in my own mind again. I heard the voices of the others, the ones that I used to be. They were buzzing over the information about the academy and what I was going to do there. Adelia and Adelaide were both jealous about the opportunity, not having had the chance for any sort of formal or postsecondary education. Adriana, who had received an education when she was younger, was worried about all the things that could go wrong when a girl attended school. Those fears were based on the reasons why she was not allowed to attend the actual school.
Pushing their buzzing aside, I tried to focus. I needed to get this done and they were bothering me. I knew that it was all just my own thoughts and worries that were buzzing around in my mind, but it was just more convenient to blame it on them, even though they were no longer real.
