**NOLAN'S POV**

I was not expecting to see Addie the moment that I entered the dining hall with Callum. He had invited me to have dinner with him tonight because we needed to talk about some things, or so he said. I did not expect to find my apprentice here in the Royal Wing. She had been unable to work the last two days because she had other obligations with the queen, but they seemed like they had just gotten back from somewhere fun.

Well, Addie had looked like she was having fun. At least, until she saw me standing there. That was when the smile seemed to disappear from her face, and she started to look really scared. Why was she so scared of me?

Well, usually she wasn't. Typically, when it was just the two of us, she had no problem being around me. She had no problem at all working with me in the Atelier. She smiled and was happy when it was just the two of us. So, why then, was she scared now?
