"W..w..what is the payment? W..w..wh..what d..do w..we owe y..y..you, M..M..Mr. B..B..Bo..Bob..Bob..Boberre?" I was genuinely terrified now. What was he going to make us do for him now?

"You, Addie. You are the payment that must be given."

I don't think that I heard him all that well. He most definitely didn't just tell me that I was the payment. What did he even mean by that anyway?

"I..I'm so sorry, Mr. Boberre. I really don't think that I heard what you were saying. Could you repeat that for me again?" I gave him a steady smile that I needed to try really hard to keep from crumbling and turning into a look of pure fear.
