Capítulo 23: Tale of the Bismarck.

A week after the teachers' meeting, Eraserhead sat in the teacher's box opposite his new problem, Sirius Black.

The teacher-in-training came on the first day of his work with four snakes on his body, one snake in his hair, and a cat on his head. Aizawa loved cats, he really did, but the silver cat with two tails just sent a chill down his back, so he decided it was better not to touch her.

Much to Aizawa's surprise, Sirius did not wear his usual black Vigilante suit, but a black shirt along with pants and a red cloak with the Flamel symbol on the back. There were no gloves on his hands but now there were tattoos. The backs of his palms had the same Circles as his gloves, and inside his palms were Circles with the sun and the moon.

The scars also attracted attention. . . Lots of scars were visible every time he moved his arms and his sleeves were lifted.

"What's the point in keeping your scars if you can change your appearance at will?"

Sirius only raised an eyebrow at Aizawa's first question of the day.

"That's your question? There won't even be a greeting? Introductions to each other?"

"You already know who I am and I know who you are, I just don't see the point."

"Fair. I keep the scars as a reminder of my mistakes. Of course, when I pretend to be someone else, I hide them but they are usually on my body."

Moonbean put her paw on Sirius's forehead and he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Okay, you got me there. But you know perfectly well why I don't like that scar."

Aizawa just raised an eyebrow at their conversation. How would the tired Hero know that the cat on Sirius' head is a human?

"So what are we going to do until next year starts? I mean, you don't have students, what are you doing here anyway?"

"Paperwork and replacing teachers who couldn't come to work for any reason. But right now, I will find out your entry-level. It is important to know the point from which any path begins."

Sirius nodded gravely and made himself comfortable in his chair. Moonbean jumped onto his lap and lay there, the cat purring the same moment Black's hand touched her head.

"For starters, the obvious question is, have you taught anyone before?"

Sirius wondered how to answer that. On the one hand, he taught Junior Aurors and his children in a past life, but he can't say that can he? He also was teaching Alchemy to Midoriya - although the teen was just studying Alchemy himself, he only needed the first push - but again, that would be difficult to explain.

"Yes."

So he chose the short answer. He didn't need to explain anything, at least he hoped so.

"That's good. Nezu prepared a little test to check your level of knowledge, so until you pass it doesn't make sense to ask you anything else. Good luck."

With that, he laid twenty sheets on the table in front of Sirius. Black could swear that he saw a satisfied smile on Aizawa's face but it could just be his imagination.

"Oh joy. . ."

And while Sirius was solving the test, Aizawa was deciding exactly what he needed to do to make sure Black was a good teacher. He can simply let him have one of the classes when the opportunity presents itself. Yes, that is what he will do.

Aizawa Shota didn't know his decision would lead to an even bigger headache.

---

Class 2-D General Course were smart teenagers, otherwise, they would not have been able to get into the U.A. Their learning was very rewarding, albeit a bit boring. I mean come on! Hero Course has Heroes as teachers! How can ordinary teachers compare to this?!

But today their teacher is sick and Shota Aizawa is coming to replace him! The Underground Hero - only two people in the entire class knew about him - would teach History! Not the best subject, but it should still be interesting, right? So when two very similar people entered the class, the students were a little confused.

"Morning, students. Today your lesson will be taught by Black Sirius, good luck."

Without another word, Aizawa pulled a yellow sleeping bag out of nowhere and lay back against the wall. To everyone else, he looked asleep, but Sirius knew that the Hero was only pretending. So with a small smile, he decided to start the lesson.

"As you already understood, my name is Sirius Black. Answering your possible questions, I will immediately say: yes, I am British. No, I am not a Hero. We will not discuss my companions in this lesson - perhaps some other time. And if you want to ask something - raise your hand. When you answer a question, first tell me your name so that I know who to rate."

Seeing that the students looked a little down, he decided to move the topic to something else. Sirius looked at the sick teacher's notes and nodded, today's lesson was supposed to be about Lincor Bismarck. The teacher wanted to show an example of the unsuccessful decision of the politicians of the pre-Quirk era. Well, not that Black cares.

One of the reasons Sirius wanted to become a History Teacher was that during the War of the Quirks, many historical records were lost. This was not a problem for Black, who had a library in his head with many books of different contents. History was the easiest subject for him, considering that he remembered it all - lived through it, even.

After Sirius finished the roll call, he began the lesson.

"Today I will tell you about the legend of the German navy, the super-powerful - no - battleship Bismarck. Let's look at it from all sides, find out why it was needed at all and why its fate is so tragic."

The students were a little taken aback by his words. They've never seen any teacher talk so loosely.

"As we already know, after the mustachioed Austrian came to power, Nazi Germany said "fuck you" to the terms of the Versailles Peace Treaty - the countries of Europe didn't mind, especially Britain - and began a large-scale modernization of the army and navy "to protect their territories.""

Here Sirius chuckled and placed his hand on the wall behind him. Red lightning flashed on this and a sectional image of a battleship drawn in chalk appeared on it, the flag of Germany appeared above the drawing.

"The main achievement of German naval designers in the mid-30s was, without a doubt, "pocket battleships" of the "Deutschland" type. However, their firepower was not enough to fight on equal terms with the fleet of a potential enemy."

Red lightning ran across the board again and several more ships appeared next to Bismarck.

"Who can tell me whose fleet the German designers were supposed to compete with?"

Several hands immediately flew into the air. One girl who was sitting in the middle of the class almost jumped up from her seat trying to attract attention to herself. She reminded Black of Hermione in her first year at Hogwarts.

"Red hair, hit me."

The girl with red hair and brown eyes immediately got up from her seat.

"Inuka Yamato, Germany's main adversaries on the seas were England and France, which had the most powerful navies at the time."

Sirius nodded and waved his hand at the girl to sit down. Behind Black's back, flags of England and France appeared alongside other ships.

"In this regard, Hitler demanded the development of a super-powerful battleship that could compete with the most modern British ships. At that time it was. . ."

Sirius left the question hanging in the air and spotted the guy at the end of the class who was looking out the window and did not follow the lesson in any way.

"Last row, far right. Tell me what type of English battleship was the most modern in the '30s?"

The guy still looked without interest at the teacher who was hung with snakes and shrugged.

"Koketsu Nomatu, type Nelson."

"Hmm. . . Well, it's good that you already know the material, but I advise you to follow the lesson anyway."

Under the ships, their names appeared and Sirius continued to talk.

"Within a couple of years, engineers at Blohm & Voss designed a fundamentally new type of battleship, which was strikingly different from competitors of other fleets. In 1936, the drawings were presented to the Kriegsmarine General Staff and, after approval, the ship was laid down at the shipyards in Hamburg. Three years later, on February 14, 1939, the ship was solemnly launched under the name "Bismarck." After completion on August 24 of the same year, the ship was entered into the fleet and Captain Ernst Lindemann took it under his command."

The already familiar red lightning changed Bismarck's drawing into its blueprints.

"On paper, Bismarck was superior to any ship that existed in Germany, given its firepower and speed, this was not surprising. Although there were a couple of strange decisions in its design. I don't know why torpedo tubes were installed on the battleship. That didn't bring any visible profit other than the additional load and danger to the ship."

"That's not what profit is. . ." Someone muttered, but Sirius decided to ignore them.

"The battleship set out on its first military campaign on May 18, 1941, as part of Operation Exercise on the Rhine. The Bismarck was accompanied only by the heavy cruiser Prince Eugen, which ultimately became one of the fatal factors. The Bismarck was originally planned as the leader of the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau raider squadron, which shortly before the operation were attacked by British submarines, and then got into a storm, as a result of which they got up for repairs in Kiel. The German command did not like to release damaged ships into the sea at all because of the danger of their loss. In short, two brothers-acrobats are being repaired, but they did not want to disrupt the operation. And Bismarck with an escort set out on its first and last trip."

Most of the students watched the show that appeared on the board. The picture was constantly changing, creating a rough resemblance to the film, and the red lightning illuminated the ships so that they seemed to be sailing in a sea of blood.

"According to the plan of the leadership of the fleet, the ships were supposed to go to the Atlantic through the Danish Strait and damage the British communications. It was assumed that while the Bismarck distracts the attention of the British navy, the Prince of Wales will hunt down and sink merchant and transport ships. However, from the very beginning, the operation went down the drain."

The bloody sea swallowed up the ships and in a second the ships from different countries were on the board, sailing towards each other.

"The Swedes, who remained neutral, didn't hesitate to regularly transmit information about the movements of the German fleet to British intelligence. The same happened with the Bismarck formation. To intercept the German ships, a group of the metropolitan fleet was sent, which included the battlecruiser Hood, which was at that time the flagship of the Royal Navy and the battleship Prince of Wales, as well as several cruisers and destroyers."

More and more ships appeared on the British side until they stopped. Two German ships faced a large number of English ones.

"The first battle took place in the Danish Strait. And this is where the fun begins. The Germans are the first to notice the British because of their high foremast, but the Hood opened fire earlier. The shells hit the bow of the Bismarck, but no significant damage was inflicted."

The ship fired the chalked shells and they safely hit Bismarck, bouncing off his armor.

"Although the commander of the German squadron, Admiral Lutyens gave the order not to engage in battle with the British ships, Lindemann thought "Leck mich am Schwanz!" and attacked Hood. After the return salvo of the German battleship, the Hood's artillery cellar exploded and the pride of the Royal Navy sank along with the squadron commander, Admiral Holland."

A portrait of the Admiral appeared on the board, only to drown in the bloody water. The children were mesmerized by this performance. Of course, all of this could be shown on the big screen in high definition, but the use of Quirk - in the case of Sirius, Alchemy - added a touch of grace to what was happening.

"To say that the British went crazy is to say nothing. The Prince of Wales immediately pulled out of the battle and did a tactical retreat, not forgetting to break the Bismarck's pipeline and damage one of the fuel tanks before leaving with a successful hit."

The images on the board changed throughout his story, and even Aizawa opened one eye to look at what was happening. He was pleasantly surprised by Sirius' ability to grab the class's attention; Shota usually only achieved the same result only after a few threats.

"Even though the Germans managed to escape, the battleship Rodney and the aircraft carrier Victories were sent in pursuit. For a long time, the British couldn't track down the German ships, which were very successfully retreating to the allied ports. However, the patrol Catalina accidentally discovers the Bismarck and transmits its coordinates to Rodney squadron. In addition, problems with a broken pipeline were found, as a result of which the Bismarck could not develop high speed due to the threat of fuel loss, but it still outnumbered the British squadron."

Bismarck quickly moved away from the British ships, leaving a trail of oil. Fifteen biplanes appeared on the British ship and the pilots immediately began to climb inside them. Someone silently gave orders for the pilots to move faster but only got a middle finger to return.

"In despair, the British decided to launch an attack with the Swordfish torpedo bombers from the Victories deck. The air defense calculations simply could not take the lead for such slow targets. The not very good training of the crew also affected the situation. The German school of anti-aircraft training did not take into account such slow biplanes straight from the past, focusing on intercepting faster and more mobile aircraft. And the lack of a large number of auxiliary small-caliber anti-aircraft artillery played a role. As a result, the British, despite heavy fire, approached the Bismarck and dropped torpedoes. One of them found its target by jamming the steering wheel. And the malicious Swordfish returned without incurring losses."

Fifteen biplanes flew to Bismarck and the ship was able to damage only seven of them, two more planes were driven away but the remaining eight reached their goal. Torpedos fell from the air like hellfire and killed several of the crew. Aizawa was surprised to see that the people drawn were actually losing their limbs and lives. He could only thank God for the fact that these drawings cannot scream.

"On May 27 at 8:45 am, the British battleships Rodney and Prince of Wales approached the firing range. With the first salvo of 406mm shells, Rodney knocked out two of the Bismarck's main caliber turrets. The Germans returned fire, but tangible damage The Rodney was not inflicted. For several hours the German battleship successfully tanked shells, firing back from the surviving guns. However, the torpedoes fired from the cruiser Dostershire inflicted fatal damage on the Bismarck. At 10:39, the Bismarck fell on board and sank, only a little more than 110 crew members managed to escape, more than 2,100 people shared the fate of the lost ship."

Bismarck slowly drowned behind Sirius's back until he removed his hand from the board. The ship stopped in place and the lightning disappeared. For a couple of seconds, no one spoke and then Black decided to knock them out of their stupor.

"From Mr. Fusigura's notes, you should already know enough about ships to answer my next questions. By the way, why does he spend so much time talking about ships?"

Aizawa answered instead of the students.

"Fusigura wanted to go to work in the Navy when he was young, but he was not hired due to heart problems. I'll have to talk to Nezu so he can find us a new history teacher if this continues."

The students breathed a sigh of relief when they heard about this. Not that Fusigura was a bad teacher, he just loved boats too much. That could be a bit too much sometimes.

"Huh. Neat."

Sirius took a thermos with hot coffee from an inner pocket of his cloak and handed it to the Hero lying on the floor. He accepted this without any questions and began to slowly drink the drink of the Gods.

"Now, questions!" Sirius's kind smile didn't help to hide the sadism in his eyes.

Please don't ask why I wrote this, I don't know myself. I just decided to show what kind of teacher Sirius is and took for this an article about the fall of Bismarck from the Masonic Lodge. Again, don't ask.

But the boring chapters are over, the next chapter will contain a timeskip before the entrance exams. I am not going to change the composition of classes 1-A and 1-B. Mineta will exist only to suffer.
