I could hear the pain, fear in his voice when he said those statements in my head. A man like him was scared of being left alone or rejected. 

Well… who wasn't scared of being left alone, neglected, or rejected?. 

They were one of my fears, one of my fears to trust someone. They all promised to stay but in the end, they left. 

I smiled reassuringly at him, giving him my best smile to ease his fear. I wouldn't ever dream of leaving him alone. We were in it together. Everything together. 

I knew he told me about his past to ease my mind… we didn't really know each other but that didn't stop us from moving forward. We were going to know each other for a lifetime.
