“No, babe, don’t worry. I will be here for you in this hour of need. You can sleep in the master bedroom with me again,” Howard said.

“I can?” Jason asked, a little hope returning to his face.

“Of course, you can, babe. We will sleep together every night for the rest of our lives. I will hold you closer than I ever have,” Howard said.

“You will?” Jason asked.

“Of course, I will,” Howard said, a smile filling his face. “We just can’t ever have sex again. Never. From what your doctor says, we can never have sex again. Not as long as we live.”

“Look, the doctor may not…” Jason protested.

“He knows what he’s talking about,” Howard said. “How could he be wrong about something like a heart attack?”

“But he…”

“Shh…” Howard said, leaning down and kissing Jason first on the lips, and then on that spot on his neck that always got him going.

“I think we need a second opinion,” Jason said, looking as if he were about to cry.
