Ken wasn’t an expert on Nebraska, but if any movie about the west could be trusted, they didn’t get much rain or snow, despite very cold winters. Just as it wasn’t supposed to snow in Minnesota in early September.

The revelation put Kenna in an immediate state of unease. “Fuck,” she whispered. Nothing strange was ever a coincidence, she thought. Not in a world full of magic.

Yuuki roused slowly and blinked. Looking around, “Traffic?”

“Yeah.” May as well go with that. No reason to scare her. “It could put us back a few hours. I dunno what’s going on. Something with Lincoln.” Either the city always had bad traffic or they were just unlucky.
