Capítulo 48: Chapter 48

“Get her cleaned up and ready to travel,” he ordered the three men behind him.

Cam looked up. Travel? Where were they taking her this time?

The men pulled her to her feet and shoved her into the hallway. They led her into the room that was completely plastered with cement, the room where she’d hosed off every few weeks. This time, however, she was given a bar of soap and a bath-sized towel. One of the men had what looked like a pile of clothes in his arms.

Cam was past being modest. She stripped down and started to work up lather with the soap. The smell of the soap was one of camphor or some other chemical, but just having the feeling of getting the grease and oil off her body was a delight. It didn’t matter how cold the water was. She scrubbed herself and rinsed off several times before she laid down the hose and grabbed the towel.

She looked up as she wrung the water from her hair. Standing in the doorway was El Presidente.
