She heard the door open and looked up at the clock. It was 2:45 already.

“Maggie?” She heard a familiar voice from the outer office.

“In here!” she called as she stacked up the mail she had signed. Pauly peeked around the doorjamb with a big smile on his face.

“Hi, Doc!” he greeted her.

“Pauly! What are you doing here?” she asked as she stood to hug him.

“Craig and Dickie said to meet them here. I guess I’m a few minutes early.”

“Oh, Pauly! I’ve been on pins and needles since Craig called the other day. Do you know what’s happening? Have they heard anything?”

“I don’t think so, but they’re gonna let me go there and try to find her.”

“Oh, Pauly! You?” Maggie exclaimed.

Pauly nodded in affirmation. “I’ve been bugging them ever since this started. I don’t know what changed their minds but Dickie finally said yes,”
