They could get rid of the sheep because Zoya was gone, Sean realized. Zoya had used the wool to make yarn and color it, then sold it in town and even to a few online shops. She’d knitted a lot, but without her there, they really didn’t need the sheep, because they only had a few slaughtered every year for food. Most of them didn’t even like the meat so much.

“I see. Well, I know we don’t need as many as we have. Especially when the new lambs are born in the spring.” Sean said, hiding the fact that it hurt to think about all of this, because it was so tied to his memories of Zoya.

“So you think we can start looking for a horse or two?” Jude asked enthusiastically.
