“If you’re sure I’m no imposition.” Kane hiccupped on a little sob. “I don’t have anyone else.”

“You’re no imposition. We like you and want you to feel at home here.” Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief. His Mate wasn’t leaving him. He still had some time. 5

“I brought you an ottoman so you can put your feet up and a throw to cover you so you’re warm enough. Let me get a pillow for your back.” Gabriel took one of the pillows covered in the handwoven cloth and stuck it behind Kane’s back.

“Gabriel, could you find out about my job and whether or not I still have one? I think it would be better if the lawyer called rather than me.” Kane’s lovely lips made a slight pout.
